Lucid Unveils 2027 Air with Unchanged Prices, Narrows the Entry Trim’s Options

Lucid has opened its configurator to the 2027 model year Air, keeping starting prices unchanged across all four trims in the United States and Canada while trimming the choices available on the entry-level Air Pure.

The four trims start at $70,900 for the Pure, $79,900 for the Touring, $114,900 for the Grand Touring and $249,000 for the fully equipped Sapphire, each identical to the 2026 model year.

Canadian prices are also unchanged at C$99,900, C$112,800, C$161,200 and C$327,300.

The changes are narrow.

The company describes the 2027 pricing guides as reflecting “a more focused set of available options for the Air Pure,” and the only new item in the range is a package for that trim.

Orders require a $2,000 deposit, with delivery quoted at eight to twelve weeks — according to the configurator as of publication time.

Cosmos, the third model of the Saudi-backed EV maker, has recently been delayed. Previously planned to start production in “late 2026,” the CEO Silvio Napoli said on August 4 that manufacturing at the Saudi plant is now scheduled for the second half of 2027.

The Stealth & Sound Package

Lucid has added a Stealth & Sound Package to the Air Pure, sold in two versions that differ only by wheel.

The $4,500 version brings Stealth exterior styling with darkened finishes, 19-inch Aero Range Stealth wheels, and Surreal Sound Pro with Dolby Atmos through 21 speakers.

The $6,250 version is identical but substitutes 20-inch Aero Lite Stealth wheels.

Canadian pricing is C$6,200 and C$8,700.

The bundle carries a discount against buying the audio system alone.

Surreal Sound Pro is a $2,900 standalone option, which prices the Stealth finishes and wheels at $1,600 in the cheaper package.

The wheel choice may cost range as well as money.

On the 2026 Air Pure, EPA figures give 420 miles on 19-inch wheels and 372 on 20-inch — a 48-mile difference for the larger size.

Colors

The clearest evidence of the narrowing is in the paint list.

The Air Pure is offered in three finishes: Infinite Black Metallic at no cost, with Stellar White Metallic and Quantum Grey Metallic at $1,000 each.

The Air Touring and Air Grand Touring are offered in six: those three plus Cosmos Silver Metallic, Zenith Red Metallic and Fathom Blue Metallic, each also at $1,000.

The three colours available with the Stealth & Sound Package are therefore the Pure’s entire palette rather than a restriction imposed by the package.

The Cars Are Unchanged

The Air Pure produces 430 horsepower from a single rear motor, reaching 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with an EPA-estimated 420 miles of range on 19-inch wheels.

The Air Touring produces 620 horsepower from front and rear motors, reaching 60 mph in 3.4 seconds with 431 miles.

The Air Grand Touring retains the longest range of any electric vehicle on sale at up to 512 miles.

Every trim includes DreamDrive Premium driver assistance, Surreal Sound, standard UX with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the ‘Lucid Care’ maintenance plan covering two years or 24,000 miles.

DreamDrive Pro costs $6,750, Surreal Sound Pro $2,900 and the Comfort and Convenience Package $3,000 where they are not standard.

The destination fee is $1,500, taking a base Grand Touring to $116,400.

The decision to leave prices alone comes in a year when costs have moved against manufacturers.

Tariffs on imported vehicles and parts have raised industry costs, and the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles expired at the end of September 2025, lifting effective prices for buyers.

Lucid has not passed either through on the Air.

The Gravity Went the Other Way

The contrast with the company’s SUV is direct.

When Lucid moved the Gravity to the 2027 model year in April, it raised the Grand Touring’s base price by $4,000 to $98,900 and lifted the destination fee to $1,850 from $1,650.

The Touring held at $79,900 before destination, and the Dream Edition was dropped.

The Gravity’s fee is now $350 higher than the Air’s.

Europe has seen the same asymmetry.

Lucid restructured the Gravity range there this week, adding two trims and cutting the German entry price by €5,000, while unveiling the Gravity GT-S at Monterey Car Week the week before.

Cláudio Afonso founded CARBA in early 2021 and launched the news blog EV later that year.
