The performance Gravity Lucid unveils at Monterey Car Week on Thursday is called the Gravity GT-S, produces 1,070 horsepower and starts at $127,750 — according to an article published roughly six hours before the company’s scheduled reveal and removed shortly afterwards.
Media outlet Autoweek published the piece, written by Mark Vaughn, at about 5:00 p.m. UTC.
Lucid‘s event countdown pointed to 4:00 p.m. Pacific time at the Concours Village in Pebble Beach, California.
The page now returns a 404 error, and the article is only available via search engine caches checked by EV.
Brands commonly release material to selected outlets in advance on condition that nothing appears before an agreed moment.
Publication followed by rapid deletion is the standard signature of an embargoed article reaching a live site early.
A similar case happened earlier this year with the Rivian R2 launch.
The Specifications
The GT-S reaches 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, according to the removed article, against 3.4 seconds for the existing dual-motor Gravity at 828 horsepower and 909 lb-ft.
Lucid describes the new variant as the most powerful three-row SUV in America.
The Dynamic Handling Package is standard, bringing independent rear-wheel steering and an adaptive three-chamber air suspension that lowers the vehicle at speed.
The interior uses Lucid‘s Mojave PurLuxe Premium trim with blue detailing throughout — stitching and piping across the first and second rows, blue seatbelts, blue stitching on the steering wheel, door armrests and front centre armrest, a blue steering wheel marker, and the Lucid bear embossed into the front headrests.
The company said the vehicle combines supercar performance with seating for up to seven adults and substantial cargo capacity.
At $127,750 the model sits above the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and the Rivian R1S, and below the electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
The Teaser Pointed at the Colour
The blue detailing was hiding in plain sight.
EV reported on Monday that the invitation showed a darkened front quarter of a vehicle with a glowing blue outline of the company’s bear logo on the front fender — the teaser’s only visual clue.
Lucid says on its website that the bear symbolises entrepreneurial freedom and serves as a reminder of its commitment to sustainability, and that it appears throughout the cars as a reminder of the company’s land and spirit.
On the GT-S it appears on the headrests, according to the same report.
Not a Sapphire
Coverage this week had converged on a Gravity Sapphire, extending the badge from the Air, whose tri-motor performance variant produces 1,234 horsepower and starts at $250,500.
The removed article noted that Lucid does not state what the S denotes.
At $127,750 the GT-S arrives at roughly half the Air Sapphire’s price.
Chief Executive Silvio Napoli had said only, on the August 4 earnings call, that the company would unveil a sportier version of the Gravity at Monterey.
The Output Has Appeared Before
The 1,070-horsepower figure matches the Gravity Dream Edition, the limited-production launch trim that started at $139,900 and which Lucid removed from the lineup for the 2027 model year in April.
The GT-S undercuts that discontinued trim by $12,150 while matching its stated output.
The Backdrop
The reveal lands nine days after Lucid‘s net loss nearly doubled to about $1 billion in the second quarter, alongside a $1.4 billion cash-savings plan.
The company eliminated a production shift at its Arizona plant amid a cut to the US workforce.
The Gravity carried what growth the quarter produced, with group deliveries of 3,953 vehicles rising 19% year on year on the SUV’s ramp.
Napoli named four must-win projects on that call — the cash plan, the Uber-Nuro robotaxi program, the AMP-2 plant in Saudi Arabia and the Midsize program. A new Gravity variant was not among them.
Last Year’s Monterey Car
Lucid used the same week in 2025 to reveal the Gravity X, an off-road concept built on a Grand Touring with a lifted ride height, widened track, all-terrain tires, skid plates and integrated tow hooks.
VP of Communications Nick Twork said at the time that it was a concept pushing the boundaries rather than a production vehicle. No production version has followed in the twelve months since.
Then-interim Chief Executive Marc Winterhoff told reporters in September that the off-road model on Lucid‘s midsize platform would take its cues from the Gravity X, according to Car and Driver.
Still Unknown
The removed article did not state whether the GT-S is a production model or a show vehicle, when orders open, what range it achieves, or whether the price includes destination.
EV has not independently verified the specifications above, which come from a single article that is no longer accessible.
