According to a video posted on the Chinese social media Weibo, NIO ES7 was spotted on-road tests in China. On March 29, NIO’s Co-Founder, Director and President confirmed that the SUV Model will be released by the end of May. Earlier this week, when announcing the 200,000th vehicle produced, the EV maker confirmed the intention of launching the SUV ES7 in the upcoming weeks: “the first SUV product ES7 based on the technology platform NT2 is also coming soon.”
The first photos of NIO ES7 leaked on December 29th, showing some differences compared with the existing models. Deliveries in China are expected to start during Q4 2022 with the European Market receiving the first units early next year.
“The SUV products ES8, ES6 and EC6 of the NIO technology platform NT1 have stable market performance and are about to usher in smart cockpit upgrades; the car products ET7 and ET5 of the NIO technology platform NT2 will follow; the first SUV product ES7 based on the NIO technology platform NT2 is also coming soon. All of this has further improved the product strength advantages of NIO’s product range for mainstream high-end fuel vehicles at the same price”, NIO stated.

The SUV model was supposed to made its public debut at the 2022 Beijing Auto Show but Covid-19 cases surge in China delayed the event. The international automotive exhibition was initially scheduled to take place at the China International Exhibition Center of Beijing from April 21st to April 30th.
NIO ES7 SPECS
- Equipped with NT2.0 Hardware — the layout of the watchtower is basically the same as the one used by ET7 and ET5 Model with NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving) included.
- The outflowing model is the shell of the ES6 — It is known that the ES7 will be longer than the current ES6 captain, and it is positioned between the NIO ES8 and the NIO ES6.
- The charging port of ES7 in low located in a different area.
- The intelligent cockpit hardware carried in the car is also likely to be Qualcomm Snapdragon’s 8155 processor.
On January 17th, the model was spotted on the road in China under Spy Mode. These tests on the road are part of the process for any company months before launching a new model.
Florian Otto, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at NIO Europe, will be among the speakers at the Automotive Dialogue on May 5. The event will be held by Voestalpine, an Austria-based steelmaker, and will count on top-class speakers from Toyota Motor Europe, Voestalpine Steel Division, NIO, and Magna International.
