On April 25, NIO announced the 200,000th vehicle produced reaching “the second 100,000 units in only one year, once again setting the industry speed”. When announcing March 2022 and Q1 deliveries numbers on April 1, the company disclosed that cumulative deliveries of vehicles as of March 31, 2022 were 192,838 units.

The difference results in 7,162 vehicles produced during the first 25 days of April, an average of 286,48 units per day. Although, NIO’s Hefei Factory was closed for 6 days, from April 9 to April 14, when started gradually its normal production pace. That said, the company produced 7,162 in 19 days, an average of 377 units per day in April indicating around 9,050 deliveries this month. In March 2022, NIO delivered 9,985 vehicles (+37.6% year-over-year) resulting in a pace rate of 322 units delivered per day.

The strict measures applied by the Chinese Government earlier this month shutted down all the factories from different OEMs like NIO, Tesla, Volkswagen, and its suppliers making it expectable to see lower production numbers in April for all these automakers.

On April 9, NIO announced the suspension of the vehicles production due to Covid-19. NIO’s supply chain partners in Jilin (Shanghai) stopped production forcing the company to suspend the production of its vehicles. “Since March, due to the epidemic, the company’s supply chain partners in Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places have stopped production one after another, and have not yet resumed. Affected by this, NIO vehicle production has been suspended.” — the company said.

200,000th rolls of the line

“This is another important milestone for NIO and a microcosm of the rapid development of China’s smart electric vehicle market. From May 2018 to April 2021, it took three years for NIO to achieve a leap from 100,000 to 200,000 high-end smart electric vehicles. Today, we reached the second 100,000 units in only one year, once again setting the industry speed.

200,000 vehicles, 200,000 user friends, 200,000 trust, and 200,000 expectations. Thank you to all users, friends, partners and colleagues for their trust and support. You are the driving force behind NIO’s development and the driving force for NIO to create more possibilities,” NIO stated.
