XPeng‘s next-generation P7 electric sedan will soon go on sale in Europe, Vice President Yu Tao wrote in a Weibo post, without giving a date, markets or pricing details.
“It is about to enter Europe for sale, and European colleagues are very excited,” Yu wrote, while the carmaker has not announced a European launch date or pricing for the sedan, which went on sale in China in August 2025.
Yu joined XPeng in 2024 from smartphone maker OnePlus to run marketing and is verified on Weibo as a Vice President of XPeng.
The P7 is a different model from the P7+, which XPeng already sells in Europe and which Magna Steyr assembles for it in Graz, Austria.

Any P7 shipped fully built from China would be subject to the European Union’s countervailing duties on Chinese-made EVs, in force since October 2024.
XPeng has not said how it would price the P7 in Europe, which markets would get it first, or whether the European version would carry the same powertrain options as in China.
XPeng VS. Jaguar
Yu made the remark in a repost about the P7’s styling, not in a product announcement.
The thread began with a post by a Weibo user on October 8 comparing the P7’s front and rear bumpers and lights with those of Jaguar‘s Type 01, which the British brand unveiled in New York on October 6.
The user argued that the P7’s design had been mocked when it was revealed in 2025, and that the Type 01’s similar proportions had drawn no such criticism.
Wang Tan, who co-founded the company’s flying-car affiliate XPeng AeroHT, reposted it, writing that Chinese brands and designs had “stood up internationally” and asking whether Chinese “aesthetics and confidence” could do the same.
Wang also wrote that he “sincerely admired” established brands for daring to try new designs at a time when car styling was converging.
From Munich to Market
Yu’s remark echoes what Chairman and Chief Executive Officer He Xiaopeng told reporters at the car’s European debut a year ago.
“This time the P7 coming to Europe surprised me a lot,” He said at the IAA Mobility show in Munich in September 2025, adding that many European dealer partners and ordinary users cared about the sports sedan.
“So we are discussing whether to accelerate bringing the P7 to Europe and to more countries,” he said.
He also said entering the European market was only a matter of time for the new P7 and would likely need few changes because the hardware was shared and only the software needed adapting.
XPeng gave the next-generation P7 its European premiere at the IAA Mobility show in Munich in September 2025, calling it a “groundbreaking sports sedan.”
XPeng said the top version delivered 593 PS, accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reached 230 km/h.
“With the Next P7, we are demonstrating to users around the world how AI can transform the car into a warm, intelligent companion,” He said in the company’s release at the time.
It had launched the car in China on August 27, 2025, at prices from 219,800 yuan ($32,800) to 301,800 yuan ($45,100).
The P7+, a separate sedan, went on sale in China in late 2024 and was later added to XPeng’s European range.
An earlier generation of the P7 was XPeng’s first car in Europe, shipped to Norway from 2021, and was later sold in other markets in the region.
At the same show, XPeng said it would open its first European research and development center in Munich that month, its ninth such hub worldwide.
“Since our first appearance at IAA Mobility in 2023 as an emerging Chinese EV brand, XPENG has returned in 2025 having quickly grown into the world’s sixth-largest EV player,” Vice Chairman and President Brian Gu said then.
XPeng said a year ago that it served users in more than 46 markets. Updated figures include more than 65 countries and regions as expansion continues.
A Growing European Bet
XPeng’s current European lineup includes the G6, G9 and the L03 SUVs, the P7+ sedan and the X9 minivan.
Magna Steyr assembles the G6, G9 and P7+ in Graz from semi-knocked-down kits shipped from China, and completed a first production trial of the G9L flagship SUV there this month.
XPeng launched the G9L in Europe on October 12 from 74,990 euros ($84,200), and said it would become the fourth XPeng model assembled in Europe.
The company said at a media event in Paris on October 11 that it had collected 12,136 European orders for its L03 SUV coupe, which is built in China, since the model’s global launch in July.
It also plans to bring its mid-size L05 SUV to Europe in early 2027.
XPeng registered more than 4,600 vehicles across its European markets in August, according to preliminary datacompiled by EV from national registration authorities, more than four times the figure a year earlier.
Neither Yu nor XPeng said whether the European P7 would be shipped from China or assembled in Graz.
