The smartphone giant Xiaomi announced on Thursday that has delivered over 10,000 units of its inaugural model, the SU7, for the second consecutive month.

Without revealing the exact number of vehicles delivered in July, the company anticipated meeting its annual delivery target of 100,000 units by November, ahead of the initial goal of reaching it by year-end.

The company started having doubling shifts at its car factory in early June as the annual production target was increased from 100 thousand to 120 thousand units.

Lei Jun, the company’s CEO, wrote on X that Xiaomi is gearing up to surpass again 10,000 vehicles delivered in August.

“Kicking off August with some exciting news! Last month, we delivered over 10,000 units of Xiaomi SU7. We’re gearing up to hit that mark again this month and are on track to reach our annual delivery target of 100,000 units by November,” Jun wrote.

Seventy days after delivering its first vehicle, China’s tech giant Xiaomi crossed 20,000 vehicles delivered in mid June.

Shortly after the SU7 launch event, Jun noted that the sales volume exceeded expectations by “three to five times,” presenting both a boost and a challenge.

Xiaomi CEO says the great demand is also a “headache” despite enhancing that the “partners are relatively strong” and that “the [production] ramp up has been very fast”.

During the launch event of the SU7, Jun expressed Xiaomi’s vision for a seamlessly connected ecosystem, where human interaction with cars and homes creates a unified smart living experience.
