Xiaomi Posts 30,000+ EV Deliveries in August for Second Straight Month

The Beijing-headquartered Xiaomi, which entered the electric vehicle industry in March 2024 with the launch of its debut model SU7, said on Monday it delivered over 30,000 EVs for the second consecutive month in August.

“In August 2025, Xiaomi Auto’s deliveries continued to exceed 30,000 units,” the company wrote on Weibo. “Thank you all for your choice and support.”

In the second quarter, the tech giant delivered 81,302 vehicles in China — up from the 75,869 units recorded in the first three months of the year.

If Xiaomi keeps delivering more than 30,000 vehicles in September, third-quarter volume will climb by over 9,000 from the previous quarter, topping 90,000 units in total.

The new quarterly record would come amid production ramp up of the YU7 SUV and also the preparation for European expansion in 2027.

The company’s co-founder and President Lu Weibing announced the expansion plans last week amid its second quarter earnings report.

Xiaomi‘s EV unit more than tripled its revenue year over year to 20.6 billion yuan ($2.87 billion).

The Beijing-based brand has been gradually preparing to enter the European market, including by silently establishing an R&D center in Munich, as reported earlier this year.

Delivery waiting times for both its SU7 and YU7 models have reached over 52 weeks, prompting co-founder and CEO Lei Jun to tell customers who couldn’t wait for the car to choose models from other brands instead.

Earlier this month, and for the first time since January, Tesla‘s Model 3 has outperformed SU7’s weekly sales in China, ranking as the best-selling sedan in the country.
