The United Auto Workers Union announced on Tuesday it has filed federal labor charges against Republican candidate Donald Trump and Tesla CEO, X owner Elon Musk following the conversation held on the platform late Monday.
UAW has accused both Musk and Trump of “their illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers” amid their working rights, more precisely, the right to strike. On Monday, Trump suggested that the Tesla CEO fires the employees who strike.
“I mean, I look at what you do. You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s Ok, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone,” Trump told Musk late Monday.

In a statement, UAW President Shawn Fain commented on the topic saying, “When we say Donald Trump is a scab, this is what we mean. When we say Trump stands against everything our union stands for, this is what we mean”.
“Donald Trump will always side against workers standing up for themselves, and he will always side with billionaires like Elon Musk, who is contributing $45 million a month to a Super PAC to get him elected. Both Trump and Musk want working class people to sit down and shut up, and they laugh about it openly. It’s disgusting, illegal, and totally predictable from these two clowns,” he added.
On X, Musk answered saying, “The last two UAW presidents went to prison for bribery & corruption and, based on recent news, it looks like this guy will join them!”
Musk formally endorsed Trump two months ago immediately after the assassination attempt with the former President reaffirming how much that meant to him.

Later in the conversation, Musk proposed that Trump establish a new presidential commission dedicated to “government efficiency” suggesting that he could be part of it. Trump immediately approved the idea saying, “I’d love it.”
