According to local sources, the EV maker NIO will hold a conference to officially launch the new SUV model NIO ES7 on June 15, at 20:00 in Shanghai timezone. The company will start receiving reservations on the evening of the conference and the orders will start to be locked in July with the first deliveries expected as soon as the end of August.

The model will have five range versions of 440 km, 485 km, 450 km, 620 km and 575 km with three different battery packs of 70 kWh, 75 kWh and 100 kW, according to the information released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The ES7 model’s length, width, and height are 4912 mm, 1987 mm, and 1720 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2960 mm.

The electric vehicle manufacturer will also launch the 2022 versions of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 models. The new versions will bring the hardware upgrade plan for the smart cockpit, which consists of 8155 chip, smart gateway, high-definition camera, 5G module, and more.

Earlier this week, Ford CEO Jim Farley said at the Alliance Bernstein 38th Annual Strategic Decisions Conference that China’s EV manufacturer “will become more important” and that they are “incredibly undervalued”.

“I would say new EV companies probably will get simpler. And Chinese [firms] will become more important.” he started to say.

On Wednesday, NIO reported 7,024 vehicles delivered from May 2022 showing an increase year-over-year and also from the previous month, when delivered 5,074 units. On NIO App, William Li answered to customers and enthusiasts saying “Thank you all! We will continue to work hard in June”.
