NIO opens a new line of its Power Up Plan providing a charging point every 141km

In September 2021, at Auto China 2020, NIO launched a new charging service plan named Power Up Plan. At the time, the EV maker welcomed partners to jointly deploy 20 kW DC chargers in popular tourist, commercial, recreational and other types of destinations in China to expand the fast charging service network nationwide.

On Saturday, NIO announced a new line of its Power Up Plan from the south of Caiyun to Tibet. The whole journey is 2,252 km, with 17 charging and switching power stations arranged which represents a replenishment point every 141km.

Since the launch of the Power Up Plan destination power-up line, NIO has successively opened up 25 lines to provide users with a more convenient travel power-up experience. During the last months, NIO opened:

  • The 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line
  • The West Sichuan-Tibet-Qiang Ring Line
  • The Duku Highway, the Qinghai-Tibet Line
  • The Taihu Ring Line
  • The Shenzhou Arctic Line.

Last week, NIO’s 3.0 version of Digital Cockpit system ASPEN won the User Interface Award at the 2022 edition of iF Design Awards. Each year, iF International Forum Design GmbH organizes one of the world’s most celebrated and valued design competitions: the iF DESIGN AWARD. In 2021, there were almost 10,000 submissions from 60 countries.

On Friday, the EV maker unveiled that the first batch of NIO ET5 model production line trial vehicles officially rolled off the production line. The construction of the production base started on April 29, 2021, and it took only one year from the breaking of ground to the commissioning of the first batch of full-process production lines, NIO said. The CEO William Li, congratulated the team and said “This is the speed of Hefei and the speed of NIO”.

Last week, NIO opened its 47th NIO House in Xiamen, south-east China. The EV maker has currently 47 NIO Houses across the globe and opened its first European one in Oslo (Norway), back in September 2021. NIO Houses are an open, welcoming space for our users and community to express, share and experience memorable moments together, the company states.

NIO reached on Wednesday a total of 500 vehicles delivered in Norway since its debut on September 30, 2021. Until now, only the ES8 Model is available but the sedan announced during NIO Day in December 2020 is arriving to the country in the last quarter of 2022.
