Firefly Drops to €25,900 in the Netherlands in Year-End Stock Deal

Firefly, the entry-level brand of Nio Inc., is offering €4,000 ($4,500) off cars in stock in the Netherlands, after first advertising stock deals there in late August, shortly before its best month in the country.

The discount lowers the First Edition to €25,900 ($29,000) and the Comfort to €28,500 ($31,900), Firefly Nederland said in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.

That is 13.4% and 12.3% below the list prices of €29,900 ($33,500) and €32,500 ($36,400), which the Dutch configurator still shows for cars ordered new.

“Temporarily take advantage of a €4,000 stock discount on a new Firefly from stock,” the brand wrote on Thursday, adding that the offer runs “as long as stocks last”.

Firefly’s Dutch promotions page frames the offer as a year-end deal, inviting buyers to drive their new Firefly “this year”. The discount is applied automatically to the invoice once a buyer completes the configuration, the page says.

The brand first promoted stock discounts on August 24, when a post on the same account advertised “stock deals” with “up to €4,000” off.

“Seize your chance with the Firefly stock deals,” that post said.

Thursday’s post presented the four-metre hatchback with its 404-litre boot, 92-litre front trunk, range of up to 330 kilometres under the WLTP cycle and five-star Euro NCAP rating, awarded in September 2025.

The First Edition comes with navigation, a reversing camera, heated seats and steering wheel and a 14-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, while the Comfort adds a panoramic roof, an electric tailgate and ventilated, massaging front seats, according to the post.

Buyers also get a five-year warranty on the car and eight years on the battery.

A Record Month in the Netherlands

The stock deals overlapped with Firefly’s strongest month in the country.

Firefly registered 40 cars in the Netherlands in September, according to industry associations BOVAG and RAI, almost double its previous monthly high of 22 in December 2025.

Of the 34 Firefly vehicles that vehicle authority RDW showed as first registered to an owner between September 1 and 28, 31 had been admitted to the register earlier and were still uninsured on October 1.

Registrations include test drive, showroom and press vehicles, and do not correspond directly to customer deliveries.

The brand had registered 43 EVs in the Netherlands in the first eight months of 2026, with monthly totals of between one and 14, taking its nine-month total to 83, according to the BOVAG figures.

Including the 53 it registered in 2025, from its first Dutch registrations in June that year, Firefly has registered 136 cars in the country, by EV‘s count of the BOVAG data.

That December high came in the month an earlier Dutch offer, a €5,000 Black Friday discount that cut the First Edition to €24,900, ended.

Belgium and Luxembourg

Distributor Hedin Automotive listed 13 new Fireflies in stock in Belgium on Saturday, all built in 2025 and showing zero kilometres, according to its Belgian stock page.

Ten were Comfort versions offered at €30,985 ($34,700) after a €2,650 ($3,000) discount on a listed €33,635.

The other three were entry Select versions priced at €26,035 ($29,200) or €26,335 after €5,000 ($5,600) off.

Hedin is also adding a charging card worth €500 to all new cars in stock sold between September 14 and October 24, its site says.

The listed prices include options, so the starting points vary from car to car.

Nio Inc. registered 45 vehicles in Belgium in September, up 80% from a year earlier, according to the Belgian automotive federation FEBIAC, which does not separate Firefly from the Nio brand.

In Luxembourg, where Hedin also distributes the brand, its stock page showed four 2025-built Fireflies on Saturday.

Two Select versions were priced at €26,197 ($29,400) after a €3,808 ($4,300) discount, and two Comfort versions at €30,005 and €30,299 after about €2,500 off.

One Firefly was newly registered in Luxembourg in September, on September 29, according to open data from the national vehicle registration agency SNCA.

Norway Holds Its Summer Price

In Norway, Firefly’s national website listed the car from 231,900 kroner ($24,200) on Saturday.

That is the price of a summer campaign that the brand’s Norwegian website said would run until September 30, and the site no longer shows an end date.

It is 17.1% below the 279,900 kroner ($29,300) at which the model launched in Norway in August 2025.

Norway, which is not a member of the European Union, does not apply the bloc’s tariffs on China-built EVs, which total 30.7% for Nio’s vehicles.

Firefly registered 34 cars in Norway in September, against three a year earlier, when deliveries had only just begun, and 130 in the first nine months, according to Elbilstatistikk, which tracks the national vehicle register.

Portugal and Denmark at List Price

In Portugal, the distributor’s Firefly site listed the Select at €30,900 ($34,600) on Saturday, with no campaign displayed.

That follows a summer offer on stock at €25,850 ($29,000) that the Portuguese site said was valid until the end of August.

Nio Inc. registered 58 vehicles in Portugal in September, against none a year earlier, but the Portuguese automotive association ACAP does not separate Firefly from the Nio brand in its monthly data.

In Denmark, distributor NDK Mobilitet’s site lists the Select at 209,900 kroner ($31,400) and the Comfort at 229,900 kroner ($34,400), the prices at which the car launched there in December.

The Danish site promotes fixed-rate financing and private leasing on the Comfort rather than a cash discount.

Four Fireflies were registered in Denmark in September, according to EU-EVs, which compiles national registration data.

New Rivals in the Netherlands

Thursday’s offer came four weeks after Geely, which agreed in September to take a 30% stake in Nio’s battery-swap unit, brought its E2 compact hatchback to Dutch showrooms.

Geely’s Dutch site lists the E2 Pro from €20,990 ($23,500) under a temporary early-bird price valid until October 31, with the Max from €22,990 ($25,800) and the Ultra from €25,990 ($29,100).

The Pro has a 35 kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 252 kilometres, while the Max and Ultra use a 47 kWh battery rated at up to 345 kilometres, according to Geely.

The E2 opened for orders in early August and arrived at 12 Dutch dealers for introduction events and test drives on September 11 and 12.

Renault‘s new electric Twingo reached Dutch showrooms in May, priced from €20,990 with a range of up to 263 kilometres, according to the carmaker.

Both entry prices sit €4,910 ($5,500) below the discounted Firefly First Edition.

Strong in China, Slow in Europe

The compact hatchback also competes in Europe with models including Renault’s 5 E-Tech, BYD‘s Dolphin Surf and Leapmotor‘s B05, while Renault’s French-built 5 does not face the tariffs on Chinese-made cars.

The European discounts contrast with the brand’s growth in China.

Firefly delivered a record 7,327 vehicles worldwide in September, its best month so far.

Its registrations in the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark, the European markets that break out the brand, totalled at least 78 in September, out of 238 for Nio Inc. across eight European markets.
