Lucid sold an estimated 1,038 vehicles in the United States in September, up 24.0% from August, as the Gravity SUV reached its highest monthly total and the Air sedan fell to its lowest, according to data from Motor Intelligence.
The Saudi-backed EV maker, like Tesla and Rivian, reports only quarterly global figures, so the monthly US numbers are Motor Intelligence estimates and not company data.
The research firm reported Gravity sales at 831 units and the brand’s debut model, Air, at 207 units.
The total compares with 837 in August, when Motor Intelligence reported 600 Gravity and 237 Air sales, and is the highest since February.
September’s result is 14.1% above the 910 vehicles Motor Intelligence attributed to Lucid in September 2025.
Lucid usually reports its quarterly global production and delivery figures on the first days of the following quarter.
The Revision
Motor Intelligence published its September table on Thursday and revised it on Friday.
The first version carried a time stamp of 3:24 p.m. on October 1, and the second of 12:48 p.m. on October 2.
Lucid’s three figures were identical in both while four other brands changed.
Rivian was raised to 6,737 from 4,180, an increase of 2,557 vehicles, or 61%. Tesla was raised to 48,367 from 46,500, an increase of 4.0%. Ram was raised to 42,123 from 41,206.
Volvo was the only brand cut, to 7,826 from 9,100, a reduction of 14%.
Those four changes account for the whole of the 4,067-vehicle increase in the industry total, which rose to 1,327,924 from 1,323,857.
Motor Intelligence did not say on the page why the figures changed.
Tesla and Rivian both published third-quarter global deliveries on Friday, October 2, the day of the revision. Lucid did not, and its estimate was the only one of the three left unchanged.
Motor Intelligence now describes its September sales results as “finalized.” The firm has revised Lucid’s figures before.
Gravity Carries the Sales
The Gravity accounted for 80.1% of Lucid’s estimated US sales in September. Its 831 sales were 38.5% above August and the most in any month since the SUV first appeared in the firm’s data in early 2025.
The Air moved the other way. Its 207 sales were 12.7% below August and the lowest of any month in the series, which runs from January 2025.
The sedan started the year at an estimated 1,250 sales in January and 900 in February, then dropped to 322 in March and has not exceeded that level since.
Lucid’s total has followed the same shape, with an estimated 1,700 sales in January and 1,500 in February, and has not returned to those levels since.
The Incentives
September’s sales came with incentives across both models, all tied to delivery by September 30, according to Lucid’s US offers page as archived on September 29.
The 2027 Gravity Touring was advertised on a 36-month lease at $749 a month with $6,249 due at signing, or with financing at 0.99% for up to 60 months and a Lucid Credit of up to $5,000.
The 2027 Gravity Grand Touring leased from $1,199 a month with $7,699 due at signing, with financing at 2.99%.
Remaining 2026 Gravity models were offered at 0% for up to 72 months.
Gravity buyers could add a $3,000 loyalty offer for returning owners and a $3,000 trade-in allowance on 2026 models.
The Air Pure leased from $699 a month with $6,699 due at signing and the Air Touring from $819 with $7,319 due, both with 0% financing for up to 60 months and a credit of up to $7,500 for cash buyers.
First-time EV buyers could take a further $3,500 off any new Lucid, through a state program in California and through Lucid’s own credit elsewhere, an offer the company promoted to customers ahead of the quarter-end deadline.
Lucid has offered 0% financing since at least July, when Motor Intelligence estimated its US sales at 860.
The terms on the 2027 Gravity are less generous in October.
The offers page on Sunday showed the Touring lease at the same $749 a month with $7,249 due at signing, $1,000 more, and its financing rate at 1.99%.
The Grand Touring lease rose to $1,249 a month and its rate to 3.99%, and the trade-in allowance no longer appears.
The 0% rate for up to 72 months on 2026 Gravity models has been carried into October.
Lucid has added a $1,000 accessories credit for customers who order within three days of a demo drive.
The Air Pure and Air Touring offers are unchanged, and all current offers require delivery by October 31.
The Third Quarter
Motor Intelligence’s monthly estimates put Lucid’s US sales at 2,735 in the third quarter.
Of those, 2,051 were Gravity SUVs and 684 were Air sedans, a split of 75% to 25%.
The estimates cover the United States only, while the deliveries Lucid reports each quarter are global and include Saudi Arabia, Canada and Europe.
The two measures are not directly comparable, and the company’s figure, when it comes, will be the first official reading of the quarter.
Lucid’s European volumes remain small, with six vehicles registered across the Netherlands and Norway in September.
Cantor Fitzgerald in August cut its 2026 delivery forecast for Lucid by 30% and said it expected the company’s first annual decline.
Lucid also built about 5,200 more vehicles than it sold from the start of 2025 through the second quarter, leaving it with inventory to clear.
The company’s next model, the midsize Cosmos, is not due to enter production until the second half of 2027 after being delayed in the third quarter.
Until then, the Gravity and the Air are the only models Lucid has to sell.
Lucid’s share of the US market in September was 0.08%, based on the firm’s industry total.
