XPeng Weekly Registrations Increase 15% to 6,700 EVs

XPeng sales in China recovered in the third week of July, with the Guangzhou-based brand registering 6,700 vehicles between July 14 and 20.

According to registration data shared this Tuesday, weekly figures increased 15.1% from the previous week’s 5,800 units.

The brand said on Tuesday that deliveries of its cheapest model, the Mona M03, had reached 150,000 units.

Monthly deliveries have exceeded 10,000 units for ten consecutive months since its launch in August last year.

XPeng launched its G7 SUV earlier this month, priced from 195,800 yuan ($27,300). Deliveries started shortly after.

Last week, the Guangzhou-based brand updated its hiring plans for 2025 from 6,000 to 8,000 employees as it approaches a global workforce of nearly 30,000 people.

A few days later, XPeng announced it is cooperating with authorities to pursue action against three individuals who have “maliciously fabricated rumors and stirred up negativity” about the automaker.

As it further expands into Europe, planning to double its markets from 30 to 60 in 2025, the brand announced on Monday that it reached its 2,000th vehicle sold in the French market — just 13 months after arriving in the market.

The refreshed versions of the G6 and G9 SUVs, launched earlier this year in China, are already available to order in several European markets, including France.

Last week, Chinese giant BYD sold 51,400 vehicles in its home market, up from the 48,800 units registered in the second week of July.

The brand, which continues to lead new energy vehicle (NEV) sales, is launching its Sealion 06 SUV in China on Thursday (June 24).

Huawei-backed Aito remained the best-selling NEV newcomer in the market, with 9,500 vehicles listed from July 14 to 20 — abovethe 8,600 from the prior week.

Stellantis-backed Leapmotor, which had also registered 8,600 units in the second week of July, saw its sales decline to 8,200 vehicles.

Sales from tech giant Xiaomi rose from 6,700 to 7,200 EVs.

US brand Tesla registered 9,900 vehicles, below the 12,300 units listed a week before.

In the premium sector, sales of the Nio brand were up from 2,400 to 2,500 vehicles.
