Chinese carmaker XPeng is expanding into Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia through a new distribution agreement with Modus Group, the chief for the Northern European markets said on Wednesday.
Modus Group, a major automotive distributor in the Baltic region, also represents brands such as Porsche, Bentley, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Cupra.
The deal was announced by Elvis Cheng, XPeng’s general manager for Northern Europe, who said the company would begin vehicle sales in the three countries “very soon.”
“Today marks a significant milestone for XPeng Motors in our Nothern European journey — the final missing piece has been completed,” Cheng wrote on Linkedin this Wednesday.
The move follows the brand’s announcement earlier this week of its entry into the Italian market. Other upcoming European markets include Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
XPeng aims to double the number of markets it operates in globally to 60 by the end of 2025.
The brand led by He Xiaopeng said earlier this week it partnered with PlugSurfing to provide its customers with access to 940,000 electric vehicle charging points across Europe.
The charging network spans 27 countries and includes over 500 charge point operators, according to the company.
XPeng exported 7,615 vehicles in the first quarter, up 370% from a year earlier, according to a post by XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng.
The company said it ranked first in sales among emerging new energy vehicle brands in nine European countries including Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland, Finland, Portugal and Belgium.
In April, XPeng delivered 35,045 vehicles globally, a year-on-year increase of 273%.
