Swedish EV manufacturer Polestar signed Thursday a collaboration agreement with leasing company Arval in Spain for leasing services. Arval, part of the BNP Paribas Group, will become Polestar’s global leasing service provider in Spain after arriving in the country in 1996. As of June 2022, the company has currently more than 200,000 vehicles on the road and is the leading national operator.
Arval will provide its experience to offer mobility solutions adapted to the preferences and profiles of its customers. The partnership will allow Polestar’s customers to have competitive leasing products and services, as well as access to maintenance and repair of their vehicles in the brand’s own official network.
Stéphane Le Guével, director of Polestar Spain, said “We are delighted to have Arval as a trusted partner to offer the best leasing solutions and services to our customers. We both have a very clear vision of the present and future of mobility, with many shared values, such as sustainability, electrification and digitalization focused on building a better society and offering the best mobility experience to our customers.”
Arval Spain CEO Miguel Cabaça commented, “Working with Polestar further reinforces our commitment to sustainable mobility and our spirit of collaborating with different stakeholders to achieve this goal. All Polestar models are electric and will contribute to further electrify the Arval customer fleet”.

Both brands have explained that they share their principles regarding customer care and attention, as well as in the vision of mobility. Both companies are aware of their responsibility towards the environment and air quality in cities. Therefore, both have an action plan to achieve this objective, with clear actions in the short, medium and long term.
The agreement comes during Arval’s plan named ‘Arval Beyond’ (from 2020 to 2025) that aims to reach 700,000 electrified vehicles in its fleet (representing 35% of the global fleet) and a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions with respect to 2020.
On Wednesday, Polestar was awarded two prestigious awards in Marie Claire UK’s annual Sustainability Awards. Polestar Roadster model won Best Sustainable Interior and Polestar 0 Project the Best Green Emission Initiative award.
Marie Claire UK’s annual Sustainability Awards celebrates the brands, organisations, and products “that are genuinely implementing change and building a better tomorrow” and the judges are a guest panel of over 50 of the most high-profile sustainability experts, business founders, thought leaders and activists, the EV maker said.
On July 12, the EV maker has been granted a new patent regarding its upcoming hard-top convertible Polestar Oâ‚‚. The patent includes eight drawings of the new design claiming the ornamental design of the steering wheel projected to be used on the upcoming roadster Polestar Oâ‚‚.
The company is getting ready to expand its retail network in China with the opening of three new showrooms — Polestar Spaces, as they are known — until the end of July. The minimalist stores will be named Polestar Shanghai Darongcheng, Polestar Beijing Jinyuan Xinyansha, and Polestar Hainan Space.
