A day after allowing customers to close their orders for the ES7 model, EV maker NIO has begun shipping the first units of the recently unveiled SUV through China, ahead of the first deliveries scheduled for August 28.
Launched on June 15, the five-seat SUV has a Cd of 0.263 and a starting price of RMB 468,000 ($69,200 USD), and has earned a five-star safety rating in both C-NCAP and Euro NCAP tests.

With an estimated range of 930km (simulated estimate according to the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle), NIO ES7 has a breaking distance 100-0km/h of 33.9m, one of the best results in the category, as said by NIO’s CEO William Li during the presentation.
A couple of hours after the event, NIO Europe Vice-President Hui Zhang commented on the announcement on LinkedIn enhancing the diversified features that the model offers. “ES7 can also supply power too, making a camping weekend a little more joyful, though with heated and massage function seats, acres of space and power-adjustable seatback between 23° to 31°, I would be happy to just stay in the car!”, he said.

The complete functions of NIO’s NAD (Autonomous Driving) will fully adopt the “monthly activation, monthly payment” service subscription model, which costs 680 yuan per month.
For users who purchase ES7, NIO will offer a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty, lifetime free roadside assistance, lifetime free car networking, lifetime free power exchange (up to 6 times a month), and a free exclusive charging pile.
Earlier this week, the exact location of one of the upcoming NIO Houses in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was revealed, amid recently begun renovation work.
Two weeks ago, it was also unveiled the exact location of the new NIO House in Germany’s capital Berlin. The first store in Germany is located in a touristic area in the center of Berlin right in front of Zoo Palast and Zoologischer Garden metro station.
On Monday, NIO announced the delivery of 10,052 units in July 2022, representing an increase of 26.7% when compared to the same period in 2021 and a decrease of 22.4% sequentially. The deliveries consisted of 7,579 SUVs (ES8, ES6, and EC6) and 2,473 ET7s.
