The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio registered 11 vehicles in the Netherlands in November, the same as in October and the second-lowest monthly total for 2024, according to data from the Dutch automotive industry association released on Monday.
The company registered five units of its ET5 sedan, the most affordable model in its lineup, four units of its smallest SUV, the EL6, and two units of its ET7 sedan. So far this year, Nio has registered a total of 243 units, covering both private and fleet customers.

Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) made up 39.4% of the market share in the Netherlands last month, narrowly trailing hybrid models, which accounted for 39.6% of new registrations.
The extra tariffs imposed by the European Commission on China-made electric vehicles became effective on October 30 with Nio facing a 20.7% duty on top of the already existing 10% tariff. So far, the company has not increased prices across its five European markets.
Zeekr, another premium EV maker from China, recorded 103 vehicles (up from 98 in October) while the carmaker giant BYD, which delivered more than 500,000 new energy vehicles (NEV) in November, registered 344 units, up from 270 recorded in October. Tesla Model Y was the best selling model in the country with 1,867 units with Volvo’s smallest SUV EX30 following with 1,255 units registered. Tesla Model 3 followed with 1,004 units.
The U.S. luxury EV manufacturer Lucid Motors recorded two vehicles, the same result achieved in October.
Nio announced Sunday that it delivered 20,575 vehicles in November, including 5,085 units of its mass-market sub-brand Onvo. The figures showed an increase of 28.9% from a year ago —when the Onvo brand was not yet launched— and a drop of nearly 2% from October when Nio delivered 20,976 electric vehicles. Deliveries of the Nio brand decreased for the second consecutive month.

In mid-September, Nio announced a partnership with the Dutch online platform Blueplates, allowing taxi drivers and chauffeurs to rent the company’s flagship sedan ET7 in the country’s capital Amsterdam.
