As EV reported on June 4, NIO will announce on Tuesday morning its new model, the SUV NIO ES7 at 20:00 Beijing Time (08:00 EST). A couple hours before the online conference, ten official images were leaked showing the interior and exterior design of NIO‘s new model. On Tuesday, the stock closed 16.70% higher at $18.66 being the third most traded stock in the U.S. market with 105.58 million shares traded.

“The NIO Product Launch Event will start at 8:00 AM U.S. Eastern Time on June 15, 2022 (8:00 PM Beijing/Hong Kong/Singapore Time on June 15, 2022), and its livestream will be accessible on the following platforms: Mandarin Chinese: nio.cn, nio App | Mandarin with English subtitles: nio.com, YouTube@NIO,” NIO said.
The company will start receiving reservations on the evening of the conference and the orders will start to be locked in July with the first deliveries expected as soon as the end of August.

After the 2022 Beijing Auto Show being delayed in April due to the Covid-19 cases surge in China, NIO was forced to postpone the launch of NIO ES7 for the second time. In late May, NIO‘s Co-founder, Director and President Lihong, said the company would unveil the SUV model as soon as the Shanghai measures ease, which happened during the first days of June.
The model will have five range versions of 440 km, 485 km, 450 km, 620 km and 575 km with three different battery packs of 70 kWh, 75 kWh and 100 kW, according to the information released recently by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
It is also reported that the model that it will be equipped with NT2.0 automatic driving hardware, 7.1.4 immersive sound system, air suspension, electric suction door and seat massage as standard.
During a Conference held on February, Lihong said: “Officially named ES7, the model will be between ES6 and ES8. It is positioned as a medium and large five-seater SUV with an NT2.0 platform. The comfortable one is stronger. ES7 is competing with X5, the two most competitive five-seater SUVs this year.”

The first photos of NIO ES7 leaked on December 29th, showing some differences compared with the existing models. Deliveries in China are expected to start during Q4 2022 with the European Market receiving the first units early next year.
The electric vehicle manufacturer will also launch the 2022 versions of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 models. The new versions will bring the hardware upgrade plan for the smart cockpit, which consists of 8155 chip, smart gateway, high-definition camera, 5G module, and more.
On the first day of June, NIO reported 7,024 vehicles delivered in May showing an increase year-over-year and also from the previous month, when delivered 5,074 units. On NIO App, William Li answered to customers and enthusiasts saying “Thank you all! We will continue to work hard in June”.
