Chinese carmaker XPeng is gearing up to launch its new model, the G7 SUV, over the next few weeks.
XPeng revealed the first images of its new Model Y competitor in January, just hours after Tesla’s updated Model Y was officially unveiled.
Since late last year, the company has unveiled refreshed versions of its P7, G6, G9, and X9 models, while also debuting the P7+ and the new Mona M03 Max trim.
Auto blogger ‘Rich叮’ posted a photo on Weibo this Friday, featuring units of the model being transported in China.
Along with the pictures, the blogger commented that it looked “like the shipment of test drive vehicles,” noting that “the promotional campaign for the G7 is expected to launch next week.”
The Guangzhou-based company reported its first quarter earnings results earlier this month, revealing in a statement that the Max variant of the Mona M03 and the G7 SUV would be launched in the second quarter.

While the new Mona trim was launched earlier this week, the G7 SUV is set to roll out “in June,” according to founder and CEO He Xiaopeng.
The model “is expected to become a highly competitive product in the 250,000 yuan ($34,700) SUV segment,” the executive stated this month.
Along with the Mona M03 Max and the refreshed version of the P7 sedan, Xiaopeng said the brand has “strong confidence” that the G7 “will be catalyst for further growth.”
The SUV is positioned between XPeng‘s entry-level SUV G6 and its family-oriented G9. Both models have been revamped earlier this year.
The G7 features a design language similar to the flagship sedan XPeng P7+ unveiled late last year, with split headlights and an arc-shaped full-width LED light strip on the upper area.
According to a catalog released in February by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the G7 will have two variants.
The entry-level one comes with a 68.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which offers a range of up to 602 km (CLTC). The long-range trim uses a larger 80.8 kWh battery with a range up to 702 km (CLTC).
A previous catalog unveiled that the vehicle has a length of 4892 mm, a width of 1925 mm, and a height of 1655 mm, with a 2890 mm wheelbase.
The first images of the model were unveiled by the brand in January. VP Yu Tao described the model as “loaded with AI technology” and “a space monster.”
The automaker aims to double its presence to 60 markets by year end. Just two weeks after announcing expansion to Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, the brand announced earlier this week that it is entering Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia.
XPeng expects second quarter deliveries to be between 102,000 and 108,000 vehicles. In April, it sold over 35,000 units — 40% of which were Mona M03s.
