A week after it entered Lithuania, the Chinese carmaker XPeng announced on Tuesday that it has officially entered Latvia.
The company had revealed in May that it would be entering Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia through a distribution agreement with Modus Group.
The automotive distributor in the Baltic region represents brands like Porsche, BMW, and Cupra.
In Latvia, the brand will be represented by Modus Group’s Autobrava Motors, an official dealer, which will be responsible for XPeng‘s sales and after-sales services.
Ilze Brauna will be the manager for XPeng in Latvia, according to the LinkedIn profile.
Brauna previously worked for Moller Baltic Import, which represented Volkswagen Group brands in the country.
The automaker has not yet announced an exact date for its arrival in Estonia, though it is expected to take place sometime this quarter.
Earlier this year, as it announced the expansion, XPeng said it would be entering the country with the first iteration of its G6 and G9 SUVs. Pricing is not yet available.
Latvia becomes the 22st European country and the 51th global market where XPeng is available.
The company is now just 9 markets away from reaching its expansion goal in 2025 — which is to double its presence to 60 markets.
Late last month, the company entered three other European markets — Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia — through Hungarian group AutoWallis and Salvador Caetano (which also represents the brand in Portugal).
The brand’s lineup in the Old Continent includes the G6 and G9 SUVs across several European markets, with remaining inventory of the previous-generation P7 sedan available in older markets.
The new P7, launched in China in August, debuted at the IAA Auto Show in Munich in early September. However, the model was not confirmed as available for European markets in the near future.
The company is expanding its offerings with new models next year, including the best-selling Mona series and the P7+ sedan — which it describes as the world’s first AI-defined vehicle.
XPeng achieved record sales in both the UK and Germany last month, with each market surpassing 200 units sold.
The brand delivered over 40,000 vehicles in September across the globe, marking a new record in sales since its inception 11 years ago.
