XPeng said on Monday it reached a new sales record with 37,709 fully electric vehicles delivered as it continues expanding both its lineup and its presence worldwide.
Deliveries rose about 2.7% from July, marking the second consecutive monthly record since the company’s founding 11 years ago.
Over the last few months, the brand’s entry-level model has accounted for nearly half of its sales in China.
XPeng, founded and led by He Xiaopeng, began deliveries last week of the refreshed version of its P7 sedan.
The CEO said on Weibo this Tuesday that deliveries will surpass the 40,000 threshold in September.
“XPeng delivered 37,709 new vehicles, up 169% year-on-year,” He Xiaopeng wrote. “The first weekend after the P7 launch saw record-high showroom traffic and test drives.”
“Steady progress ahead — September deliveries will surpass the 40,000 mark!” he added.
Year-to-date deliveries are up 252% compared with the first eight months of 2024 with 271,615 units already handed over.
The Guangzhou-headquartered brand is less than 110,000 vehicles away from reaching its 2025 sales target of 380,000 units.
The automaker will debut the P7 in Europe on September 8 at the Munich IAA Auto Show, where it will also showcase its humanoid robot “IRON.”
As part of its plan to double its global footprint from 30 countries to 60 in 2025, XPeng has recently expanded into Italy, Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
Earlier on Monday, the extended-range variant of the flagship P7+ sedan was spotted testing in China as the company prepares to unveil the model’s hybrid version.
XPeng’s upcoming G01 SUV was also seen road-testing in China last week.
The model will use the company’s latest extended range system, built on an 800V platform with 5C ultra-fast charging capability.
It offers a pure-electric range of 430 km and a combined range of 1,400 km, with a market launch reportedly planned for the fourth quarter of this year.
Regarding charging infrastructure, XPeng reached over the weekend the 2,500th charging station in China. In total, the stations are equipped with over 13,000 chargers.
