Waymo is Alphabet's autonomous ride-hailing service, which began as Google's self-driving car project in 2009. Its driverless vehicles carry paying passengers with no one behind the wheel in several U.S. cities, including Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Waymo, formerly the Google self-driving car project, announced on Tuesday that its Waymo One service is now available to everyone in San Francisco. The company has recently surpassed 50,000 weekly rides across Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
