XPeng CEO Xiaopeng He’s visit to an Onvo store became a hot topic on Chinese social media Weibo on Friday, the day before Nio’s sub-brand opened 105 stores across the country.
Earlier this Sunday, Alan Ai (Tiecheng Ai), Senior Vice President of Nio and President of Onvo, announced that 105 stores had opened, expanding into 55 cities across 23 provinces, including major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

Onvo, the cheaper electric vehicle (EV) brand under Nio, officially launched the NT. Coconut operating system on Saturday. This system is designed for the next decade and includes the SkyOS operating system and advanced intelligent applications tailored for family use.
The Onvo OSD intelligent driving system also debuted, featuring full-scene NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) pilot assistance across 726 cities, ensuring it is ready for nationwide use upon delivery.
At the same time, the Onvo L60 offers users their first static experience with its smart cabin. As Onvo focuses on the mainstream market with vehicles priced around 200,000 yuan ($27,400), it is expected to become Nio’s second growth driver.
Unlike Nio located in high-end malls in city centers, Onvo’s stores are located in more practical locations, such as areas resembling auto repair shops or places with lower rental costs.
Never Miss an Update
XPeng recently introduced the MONA M03 and announced at the Chengdu Motor Show that within 48 hours of the launch, it had received more than 30,000 orders.
The next vehicle under the Mona series, expected to be an SUV, is likely to compete directly with the ONVO L60 targeting younger families. Another key competitor is the new Tesla Model Y, which is scheduled for delivery in China early next year.
The final official price remains unknown as customers and shareholders speculate about the cost of the version with Battery as a Service (BAAS), which offers a lower initial buying price.
The pre-sale price of the L60 stands at 219,900 yuan, equivalent to $31,000 with the battery included. The pricing for the battery as a service (BaaS) version will be only announced at the event in late September.
