Electric vehicle maker Nio will be hosting a two-day sales event at its ‘Nio Hub’ showroom in Munich, Germany, as sales in Europe’s largest auto market continue to decline.
In a new announcement on the Nio app, the brand said that it will be showcasing their “inspected and certified vehicles” at the event, set to take place this weekend (September 12 and 13).
According to Nio, customers will be able to “immediately purchase” vehicles on site and can benefit from “attractive offers on Nio Certified pre-owned vehicles.”
The premium brand is looking to reduce inventory of multiple models from the 2023 model year in the country.
An exclusive winter wheel package promotion is available for customers directly purchasing vehicles from the inventory.
Nio grants that there’ll be a “fast purchase process — whether cash, financing, or order,” with personal consultation and tailored financing options.
Test drives with all models are also possible, with “no companion required.”
Earlier this week, Nio hosted a media event at its Munich hub, together with its partner and supplier ClearMotion — a Nio Capital–backed startup that develops active suspension technology for both Nio and Porsche.
There, the company displayed the flagship ET9 sedan, which is not available in Europe, amid the IAA Munich Auto Show currently taking place in the German city.
Nio entered Europe through Norway in 2021, and expanded to Germany in 2022. Last month, the EV maker registered 23 electric vehicles in the market.
Sales dropped by 34.3% compared to August 2024 and halved from the 47 units sold in the prior month.
The brand had set its highest monthly registrations since April 2024 in July, after setting new incentives for its two entry-level models in the country — the ET5 and ET5 Touring — available through the end of August.
This followed a flexible subscription campaign announced in June.
While the company has updated several models earlier this year, including the ET5 and ET5T in May, it continues to sell previous iterations across its European markets.
In Sweden, for example, Nio was running a campaign for 2023 inventory of the ET5 sedan in August, offering business leasing from SEK 3,892 per month (excluding VAT) and consumer installment loans from SEK 4,415 (including VAT).
In Europe, Nio currently operates in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden — where August sales saw a 24.1% decrease compared to the same period a year ago and 17.8% sequentially.
The brand has recently debuted in Belgium — one of the more than a dozen new European markets it will enter over the next 18 months, with both the Nio marque and the Firefly brand.
The Nio Group set an all time record for the company’s global deliveries with over 31,300 units handed over worldwide in August.
However, these figures were reached mostly through the new Onvo L90, as its second sub-brand represented over half of the group’s deliveries.
