Lucid Registrations Drop to 8 Vehicles in Germany for July

Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors registered 8 Air sedans during July in Germany, one of its four European markets.

In June, the company had registered 15 units, according to official data released by the German Federal Motor Transport Association (KBA).

The California based EV maker registered 11 vehicles in Germany during the first quarter of the year and 54 in the second one. Year-to-date, Lucid‘s registrations in Germany total 73 vehicles.

The company has recently opened new service centers in Munich and Zurich and plans to establish additional showrooms across Germany in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart.

In July 2024, registrations of pure electric vehicles stood at 30,762 units, 36.8 percent lower than in June. A total of 79,870 new hybrid vehicles were registered including 14,811 plug-in hybrids.

The company has recently signed a partnership in Europe with the electric vehicle charging company Wallbox to offer the Wallbox Pulsar Max charger, which provides up to 22kW of charging power, to its customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

The EV maker will report its second quarter financial results later today after the market close.

Lucid‘s CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson shared a comparative chart on Friday showcasing the miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent (MPGe) results of the newly launched 2025 version of the Lucid Air sedan against three key competitors.

In mid-July, the luxury electric vehicle (EV) maker introduced the revamped Lucid Air Pure, the most efficient production car ever created.

The 2025 version of this model has set new benchmarks, achieving an impressive 5.0 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and 146 MPGe.

Cláudio Afonso founded CARBA in early 2021 and launched the news blog EV later that year.
