Tesla showcased the capabilities of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software to an official from the Swedish Transport Administration in Germany, marking the first official use of the assisted driving software in Europe.

“Today I was demoed the Full Self Drive in a Tesla test vehicle on German roads. Impressive smooth and natural driving,” Rikard Fredriksson, Senior Advisor of the Swedish Transport Transportation wrote on LinkedIn.

China giant Baidu announced earlier this week that Tesla vehicles in China will integrate Baidu Maps V.20 in May featuring a 3D lane-level navigation capability directly integrated into vehicles.

This collaboration is seen as an important step for the arrival of the software in China. Also Huawei and the electric vehicle startup JiYue will have access to the latest version of Baidu maps, as revealed by Baidu Vice President Shang Guobin last Monday.

Elon Musk tweeted recently that Tesla may soon offer full self-driving software to customers in China by saying “It may be possible very soon”.

Tesla has adjusted the pricing of its “Full Self-Driving” software in the US, reducing it from $12,000 to $8,000, and in Canada from CA$16,000 to $11,000. This price reduction follows a 50% cut in the subscription fee announced on April 12.
