Tesla has extended its 5-year, interest-free financing offer for Model 3 and Model Y models in China from the end of September until the end of October, the company announced on the social platform Weibo.
The one month extension marks the third one of the offer since it was first announced nearly three months ago.

Initially, on July 1, the company introduced this financing offer for the rear-wheel drive (standard range) and long-range all-wheel drive versions of the Model 3 and Model Y, available for orders placed before July 31.
On July 23, the automaker extended the promotion to August 31, and on August 26, it was further extended to September 30. Now, the offer has been extended once again.
The offer comes as Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory reported strong performance in August 2024. Data from the Passenger Car Association shows that the factory delivered a total of 86,697 vehicles, a 17 percent increase from the previous month.
Tesla sales in China exceeded 63,000 units in August, representing a 37 percent month-over-month increase. Deutsche bank analyst Edison Yu expects the company to sell 64,000 EVs locally in September.
The Model Y, the world’s best selling vehicle, is priced at 249,900 yuan for the rear-wheel drive (standard range) version, 290,900 yuan for the long-range all-wheel drive version, and 354,900 yuan for the performance all-wheel drive version.
In early August, Tesla was included in the government procurement list of East China’s Fujian province for the first time, following the addition to the purchase list of Jiangsu province earlier this year.
