Barclays has published on Friday a report forecasting that the electric vehicle maker Tesla will deliver 415,000 units in the second quarter of the year, marking an 11 percent decline from 2023 and falling short of the consensus estimate of 444,000.
The firm notes that while its estimate is lower than the broader market’s expectations, it aligns more closely with “muted buyside expectations.”
In the first quarter of the year, Tesla produced 433,371 vehicles and delivered 386,810 vehicles, which was below the expected 449,080 deliveries and 452,976 vehicles produced.
Barclays analysts suggest that the final consensus estimates compiled by Tesla may ultimately be revised downwards.
The firm added that the anticipated shortfall in deliveries could shift investor focus back to the fundamental challenges currently facing Tesla, as initially reported by The Fly.
