Tesla, the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, delivered 11,792 vehicles in the United Kingdom during the first quarter of the year, an increase from the 9,862 units delivered in the previous quarter.
In the first quarter of 2022, United Kingdom saw just over 15,500 units, declining by 14.26 percent to 13,358 units in the same period last year. Among the 11,792 units delivered this year, 8,154 were Model Y, the world’s top-selling car globally, and 3,566 were Model 3.

In the first quarter, Model Y continued to be the top-selling electric vehicle in the country, followed by MG’s MG4 with 3,983 units and Tesla’s Model 3 with 3,566 units. Rounding out the top 5 were Audi’s Q4-eTron and BMW i4, with 3,518 and 3,018 units sold respectively.
NEVER MISS AN UPDATE
In January, the United Kingdom witnessed only 1,591 units, yet the brand rebounded in the second month of the quarter, reaching 3,199 units. The quarter concluded with its most robust monthly performance since June 2023, delivering just under 7,000 units.

Tesla has recently reached a significant achievement in its United Kingdom operations, confirming the delivery of its 200,000th vehicle in the region.
According to three sources and company messages seen by Reuters, Tesla was abandoning its plan of launching a cheap mass-volume model. Yet, Tesla‘s CEO Elon Musk swiftly dismissed Reuters’ report by stating on X, “Reuters is lying (again)”. Tesla shares recovered from today’s lows of $160.52 per share to $166 as of the time of writing.
Later in the day, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk posted on X “Tesla Robotaxi unveil on 8/8” teasing the company’s next product event on August 8th. In previous statements, Musk indicated Tesla’s intention to develop a car devoid of controls for human operation. Additionally, he has reiterated that Tesla vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Capability will continuously improve their driving abilities through software updates.
Last week, Tesla‘s Vice President for Public Policy and Business Development Rohan Patel engaged in an open discussion with Tesla enthusiasts on X regarding Tesla’s supervised Full Self Driving (FSD).
In an exchange about the technology, Patel enhanced that the recently updated regulations of Driver Control Assistance Systems in Europe are “encouraging”. However, he defended that they still “don’t address the key issue (system initiated maneuvers)” which would enable the “safety benefits of Tesla‘s FSD Supervised”.
