Deutsche Bank Says Onvo Has 30,000+ Non-Cancelable Orders For L60 SUV

In line with the practice of its parent company, Nio’s sub-brand Onvo has not disclosed the number of orders for its debut model since its launch on September 19.

However, earlier this week, Onvo stated in its official app that “orders have exceeded expectations, and efforts are being made to meet customer demand.”

Deliveries of the standard range variant — which features a 60kWh battery — will start next Saturday, September 28, while deliveries for the long-range variant (85kWh battery) will start in December, according to the EV maker.

In his latest research note, Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin affirmed that Nio’s sub-brand has “received more than 30,000 non-cancelable orders.”

“New order flow for Nio’s main brand is expected to be around 20,000 units in September, flat month-on-month, but new brand Onvo has received more than 30,000 non-cancelable orders,” the analyst said — according to Cnevpost.

For the parent brand Nio, Wang Bin expects the brand to reach the 20,000 units milestone for the fifth consecutive month based on Deutsche Bank’s data showing 13,000 units delivered over the first three weeks of September.

According to Nio management, December deliveries of the L60 will reach 10,000 units before jumping to 16,000 in January next year. Two months later, in March 2025, the production ramp up will allow Onvo to deliver 20,000 units.

The standard range 60 kWh model is priced at 206,900 yuan, while the long-range 85 kWh version comes in at 235,900 yuan.

If the customer opts to subscribe to the battery and access over one thousand battery swap stations across the country, the start price lowers to 149,900 yuan — equivalent to $21,208.

A new post from a customer on Weibo indicated that the estimated delivery window has now been extended to 10 to 14 weeks, as the company’s production capacity for the year hits its limit.

Earlier this week, Alan Ai stated that Onvo is “working closely with partners to increase shifts and enhance production planning to ensure more users receive their L60 as soon as possible.”
