The UK announced this Monday it is easing rules on electric vehicles, as the country is planning to back its national industry amid rising global trade tensions. UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed plans to boost EV production, including bringing back the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel car sales.
Polestar set a new sales record in the UK in March with 2,434 vehicles sold, industry data shows. Compared to March 2024, sales jumped 203.11% bringing first quarter total figures to 3,695 units, up 184.7% year over year.

Xiaomi reported on Tuesday it delivered more than 29,000 vehicles in March, surpassing the 20,000 units threshold for the sixth consecutive month.
Beijing based carmaker Li Auto reported earlier this Tuesday that it delivered 36,674 vehicles, an increase of 26.5% year-over-year.
