New images of the upcoming SUV from the Guangzhou-headquartered carmaker XPeng have been shared this Tuesday on Chinese social media.
The model, which will be launched under the entry-level series Mona, was first spotted road testing in mid-September and is expected to be the cheapest SUV the brand ever produced.
Initially planned as a sub-brand, Mona — which stands for Made of New AI — was introduced last year as a lower-cost, tech-focused series.
The debut model of the series has rapidly become the best-selling vehicle of the brand and represented nearly 40% of XPeng‘s global sales in October.
The M03 sedan is available in four variants with starting prices ranging from 119,800 yuan ($16,820) and 139,800 yuan ($19,635).
MONA’s New Model
According to pictures shared by several well-known auto bloggers on the platform, the new model is a coupe SUV and will follow the M03 sedan unveiled last year.
The model is expected to retain the signature Mona design language and to feature frameless doors.
Auto blogger ‘小吕斯基’ wrote on a Weibo post this Tuesday that the vehicle is likely to have a length of 4,700 mm and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
Following the latest model launches, the new Mona SUV is also expected to feature XPeng‘s in-house developed AI Turing chip and its autonomous driving system, for which new updates were revealed last week during the ‘AI Day’ event.
MONA’s Expansion
XPeng‘s founder and CEO He Xiaopeng revealed in May that the company would expand Mona with “more models from this series” in 2026.
In the following month, XPeng updated the variants for the Mona M03 sedan, launching the Max and Ultra trims.
The standard version begins at 119,800 yuan ($16,800), while the Max iteration is priced 10,000 yuan above.
In February, a Chinese auto blogger ‘拉面师傅’ had reported that the company was preparing to unveil a sport-utility vehicle under the Mona brand in the second half of 2025.
In September, He Xiaopeng announced that the Mona series, which had up until then been limited to domestic sales, would be exported overseas from 2026.
“In 2026 you can expect a variety of Mona products launched into the Chinese and European markets, as well as in rest of the world,” the CEO said, at the IAA Auto Show in Munich.
The first batch of Mona vehicles destined for international markets was shipped in mid-October, setting sail to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
A few days later, XPeng announced expansion to Cambodia, becoming the first overseas market in which the brand included the Mona M03 in the lineup.
October Figures
XPeng reached a new monthly record in October with 42,013 units delivered.
The brand delivered 355,206 vehicles in the first ten months of the year, reaching 93.5% of its 380,000-unit annual target.
The Mona M03 remained the brand’s best-selling model, with 16,424 units delivered last month, representing 39.1% of XPeng‘s total registrations.
From January to October, 148,413 Mona M03s were delivered, accounting for nearly 42% of all registrations.
By the end of October, cumulative Mona deliveries reached 197,022 units, with the 200,000-unit milestone was achieved late last week.
