XPeng Begins First-Ever Exports of Its Best-Selling Model

XPeng announced on Monday that it has officially shipped the first Mona series vehicles to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The first batch of Mona M03 — the debut model of the series — departed from Taicang Port on an SAIC Anji vessel, although the exact number of vehicles shipped is unknown.

This is the first instance of the Guangzhou-based EV maker preparing to market its most affordable vehicle abroad.

The news came a month after its founder and CEO He Xiaopeng revealed that the best-selling series (in its domestic market) would be available overseas.

“In 2026 you can expect a variety of Mona products launched into the Chinese and European markets, as well as in rest of the world,” the chief executive said then, speaking to the media at the IAA Auto Show.

The Mona M03, XPeng‘s cheapest model to date, was launched in China in August 2024, and quickly became its best-selling vehicle.

The Mona sedan has represented over 40% of the company’s monthly sales in both July and August.

At the same time, the company has been expanding overseas.

XPeng aims to double its presence in international markets — from 30 to 60 markets in a year.

In the first nine months of the year, it has entered over 20 regions, with the latest having been Lithuania and Latvia.

Last month, the company also announced it had started European production in Austria, partnering with Magna Steyr.

A year ago, XPeng expanded further into the MENA region by entering the UAE, in a partnership with Ali & Sons Holding.

The brand’s lineup in the country included the two G6 and G9 SUVs.

XPeng is also present in Israel, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Lebanon, and, as of late last year, in Egypt — where it sells the G9 SUV and the P7 sedan.

Last week, the brand has signed distribution agreements in both Morocco and Tunisia, expanding its presence in North Africa.

In Morocco, the company is partnering with SMEIA, also responsible for luxury brands such as BMW, Mini and JLR. In Tunisia, XPeng is cooperating with XP Cars.

XPeng delivered over 40,000 vehicles globally in September — a new monthly record for the company.

In the first nine months of the year, the company has delivered about 313,000 vehicles — having completed 90% of its annual goal of 380,000 deliveries.
