Will NIO achieve its third consecutive year of doubling vehicle sales?

In 2021, NIO delivered 91,429 units reaching another consecutive year where it can double the vehicles sales. From 2019 to 2020, the EV maker increased its deliveres by 112.6% with 43,728 units delivered. In 2021, the company sold 91,429 units achieving another 109% increase from the previous year. The company will start this monday to deliver NIO ET7 in China and in September NIO ET5 Model will folow. NIO posted on March 24 its Earnings results for the fourth quarter and the full year of 2021

In December 2021, NIO‘s CEO said that the ~100% Deliveries growth Year-over-year “is expected to be maintained in 2022”. The ambitious goal would result in an amazing year for the company with ~182,000 units delivered. Although, with the expectations for Q1 2022 of only 25,000-26,000 units, the Electric vehicle manufacturer will need an average of 52,000 units during the next 3 quarters in order to reach 182,000 units by the end of the year.

NIO‘s CEO said on the Earnings Note that the company expects to deliver a total of 25,000 to 26,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022. In January, NIO delivered 9,652 units and another 6,131 in February reaching a total of 15,783 vehicles. Based on the calculations, the company will deliver between 9,217 and 10,217 in March. Using 9,500 units delivered as an indicator, it indicates that the company delivered an average of 306 units per day in China.

In light of the Chinese New Year holiday NIO delivered 6,131 vehicles in February 2022 representing a growth of 10% year over year. During the holiday we adjusted the production lines to prepare for the delivery of ET7 in late March 2022.

When commenting NIO deliveries numbers from 2021, William Li enhanced the great result the company had “despite all the challenges including the supply chain volatilities in particular.”

NIO reached $1.44B of revenue in Vehicles Sales in Q4 2021, which represents an increase of 49.3% from the Q4 2020 and an increase of 6.7% from the Q3 2021. The revenue of vehicles sales for the full year of 2021 was $5,20 billion, an increase of 118.5% from the previous year.

It had also been a year of elevated operations in fast iteration, supply chain response and innovation, production capacity expansion and systematic quality management to make comprehensive preparations for our development in the next phase. On top of our growing user base in China, 2021 also marked the beginning of our global market expansion starting from the launch and deliveries of NIO vehicles in Norway in September 2021.”

In March, we kicked off the test drive of ET7 and will start its delivery on March 28, 2022. After the launch of ET5 in December 2021, we have received great feedback from prospective users, and expect to start its delivery in September 2022. In addition, we plan to offer our products and services in more countries and regions in 2022 to further expand our global user community,” concluded Mr. Li.

When it comes to he company announced that the first batch of NIO ET7 production vehicles was officially rolled off the production line at Hefei. “The car that everyone has been waiting for for a long time is coming soon” — NIO said. On March 18, our site revealed the photos of the first ET7 rolling off production being expected to have a 6 months delivery time, according to our local source. NIO started ET7 test drives on March 5th and will deliver the first units this Monday, March 28.
