The U.S. listed Chinese EV maker Nio posted, during the last 24 hours, eight new job vacancies in London (England) suggesting that it can be its next European Market after the already announced Sweden, Denmark, Germany and The Netherlands. Nio started selling its ES8 Model in late 2021, in Norway (the country with the highest EV penetration) and is now intensifying its move to the United Kingdom. Nio has currently 11 vacancies for England, eight of them posted during the last 24h on LinkedIn.

There are currently eleven vacancies open: 3 of them for Oxford, where the company has its Advanced Engineering R&D Center (Primarily responsible for early concept development and advanced CAE) and the other 8 are London based and focused on Nio’s entrance.
Among the vacancies posted, Nio is looking for several positions regarding its Battery Swap System:
- Head of Power — Responsible for leading energy team to implement the NIO Power energy business in Europe, including power swap (site selection, construction, operation), charging (home charger installation, site selection, construction, operation, sales) , Battery operations (security, logistics, upgrades), and other energy-related user services and business development.
- Power Field Service Operations Lead — Be part of our Power & Operations team and be responsible for managing the field operations and maintenance of NIO’s Power energy business and solution.
- Power Network Construction Engineer — be part of our Power Business Operations team and be responsible for managing projects for the construction and operation and maintenance of NIO’s Power energy business and solution in the UK.
- Power Network Rollout Lead — For power swap stations, responsible for target site survey, organizing partners to complete construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance. For supercharging project, responsible for target site survey, organizing partners to complete construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance. For home charging project, select partners to complete the installation and delivery of the power home charging solution for users and after-sales maintenance, and being responsible for user experience.

During 2021 J.D. Power Survey Ceremony, Nio won in two different categories: 2021 China New Energy Vehicle Initial Quality Study (NEV-IQS) and 2021 China New Energy Vehicle Product Attractiveness Index Research (NEV-APEAL).
Nio’s ES6 Model won first place in pure luxury electric in the 2021 China New Energy Vehicle Initial Quality Study (NEV-IQS). In addition, the ES8 won the first place in the 2021 China New Energy Vehicle Product Attractiveness Index Research (NEV-APEAL) pure luxury electric.
Earlier this week, and according to official data from Fintel, The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (second-largest U.S. pension) added shares on three Chinese Evs during the last quarter of 2021. The California State Teachers’ Retirement System more than tripled the investment in three Chinese EV makers: Nio (+187.7%), Xpeng (+417.33%) and Li Auto (+337.88%).
On February 15th, and according to Nio’s Co-Founder Qin Kihong, Nio will unveil the ES7 Model in mid-April this year. The new five-seater SUV is positioned between NIO ES8 and NIO ES6 and will be built based on the NT2.0 platform. The model will be equipped with very advanced intelligent configuration and will be benchmarked with the BMW X5L, according to Nio’s Co-Founder Qin Lihong.
