Nio Group, which comprises the premium Nio marque and its Onvo and Firefly sub-brands, secured more than 10,000 new orders last week, according to industry tracker ‘CarFans China’.
“Car fans have confirmed that Nio Group’s new orders last week exceeded 10,000,” the blog’s founder Sun Shaojun wrote on Weibo, without providing a breakdown by brand.
He said the newly launched Onvo L90 SUV had generated a “spillover effect” that lifted orders for other models across the group.
“Nio’s orders also grew significantly due to the spillover effect from the L90’s popularity,” Shaojun wrote.
In the previous week, Nio Group’s new orders stood at 7,930 units, indicating a sequential increase of at least 26%.
On August 5, CarFans China posted on X that week’s deliveries included 700 Firefly units, 1,730 Onvo L60s, and 1,980 Onvo L90s in its first week of handovers.
Nio founder and chief executive William Li said last week the Onvo L90 had ranked among the top three best-selling large SUVs in China within its first three days on sale.
He added that the group’s Hefei factory was “running at full capacity with overtime shifts” to accelerate deliveries.
Onvo delivered 5,976 vehicles in July, down 6.6% from June.
As reported earlier this Monday, the family-oriented brand launched the 60kWh battery option in China, targeting customers who prefer to rent the smaller but cheaper battery pack.
Nio Group’s total deliveries in July were 21,017 units, down from the 2025 record of 24,925 vehicles posted in June.
According to the China Passenger Car Association, the ET5 Touring was the best selling model of the Nio brand with 4,418 units in July.
However, deliveries of the station wagon model fell 3.6% year-on-year and 13.4% from June.
The ES6 followed with 3,359 units delivered in June, down 58.6% from a year earlier and nearly 24% month-on-month.
With L90 planned to reach 10,000 units delivered in August, the group’s monthly figures are expected to reach a new all time record.
Deliveries of the main Nio brand fell both sequentially and year over year to 12,675 vehicles in July.
Despite the introduction of revamped versions in May to four of its best selling models, the premium brand’s July sales dropped 38.2% year over year and 13.1% from the 14,593 units recorded in June.
