The electric vehicle manufacturer NIO announced on Friday that delivered a total of 9,985 units in China during March 2022, representing an increase of 37.6% year-over-year. The deliveries consisted of 9,822 premium smart electric SUVs, including 1,726 ES8s, 5,064 ES6s and 3,032 EC6s, and 163 ET7s.

In late May 2022, the Company plans to unveil the 2022 NIO ES8, ES6 and EC6 with the latest digital cockpit hardware, and to launch the digital cockpit upgrade plan for existing users. In the meantime, NIO ES7, the Company’s new mid-to-large five-seater SUV equipped with NIO Technology 2.0 (NT2), will also make its debut.
As of March 31, 2022, NIO has deployed 884 Power Swap stations, 727 Power Charger stations and 3,832 destination chargers in China. NIO will continue to expand its power network, bringing a fast and convenient swapping and charging experience to users in the cities and on the trips.
NIO‘s CEO said on the Earnings Note that the company expected to deliver a total of 25,000 to 26,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022. In January, NIO delivered 9,652 units and another 6,131 in February reaching a total of 15,783 vehicles. Based on the calculations, it was expected that the company would deliver between 9,217 and 10,217 units in March.
In 2021, NIO delivered 91,429 units reaching another consecutive year where it can double the vehicles sales. From 2019 to 2020, the EV maker increased its deliveres by 112.6% with 43,728 units delivered. In 2021, the company sold 91,429 units achieving another 109% increase from the previous year

In December 2021, NIO‘s CEO said that the ~100% Deliveries growth Year-over-year “is expected to be maintained in 2022”. The ambitious goal would result in an amazing year for the company with ~182,000 units delivered. Although, with the expectations for Q1 2022 of only 25,000-26,000 units, the Electric vehicle manufacturer will need an average of 52,000 units during the next 3 quarters in order to reach 182,000 units by the end of the year.

During this week, NIO invited 40 journalists and influencers from Sweden and Denmark to visit its NIO House in Oslo (Norway) and test its services, like NIO’s Battery Swap system. On March 28th, the company started to deliver its sedan NIO ET7 in China which orders numbers are not public, alhtough NIO’s CEO William Li Bin said during Earnings Call, that orders are “actually much more” than those reported by media (15,000 units).
