As part of its plan to establish a total of fourteen hydrogen refueling stations by the year-end, the truck manufacturer Nikola is gearing up to open a new one in Stockton, California.
According to two new job posts shared on LinkedIn, the company started Thursday seeking both a Hydrogen Service Technician and a Fueling Station Attendant to work at the upcoming station.
As noted by a user on social media, the station should align with Nikola’s strategy of deploying stations at their dealer partner locations. This new station is likely located at Ethero’s Stockton facility, a partner of the truck manufacturer.
“Presumably, this is for a Hyla Station at Ethero Truck + Energy‘s Dealer location there, as Nikola has been partnering with their dealers to get Fueling Stations on their sites lately,” Nate Meininger wrote on X.
Never Miss an Update on Nikola
Currently, Nikola’s arm Hyla operates four stations in California including one in Oakland and three in the Los Angeles Area. The manufacturer will soon open a new one in Wilmington, Long Beach, Hyla’s website shows.
The target for the number of stations built this year includes a combination of Hyla-branded and partner-operated locations.
Earlier this week, the company inaugurated on one of the busiest truck routes in the United States, a new station situated at Tom’s Truck Center, a partner in Nikola’s sales and service dealer network.
Last Friday, the truck manufacturer said it expects to increase the deliveries of its Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) from 72 in the second quarter to between 80 and 100 in the third quarter.
For the full year, Nikola expects to deliver between 300 and 350 vehicles. This delivery guidance represents a critical uptick for the Arizona-based company as it strives to convince large fleet operators to adopt its truck models.
The Vancouver-based firm HTEC announced last week that Nikola trucks have passed its vehicle acceptance tests and will now integrate the Pilot Trucks fleet in Canada.
On the last day of July, Nikola opened the first commercial hydrogen refueling station in Ontario, Canada. The station was inaugurated together with IT Industries, the company’s first dealer partner in the country.
