Luxury electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors registered 41 vehicles in Germany last month, marking its strongest performance since entering the market. A year ago, the company had sold 11 units of its debut model, the Air sedan, in the country.
According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, the California-based automaker closed the third quarter with 62 units sold, making it the best quarter so far.

Lucid had recorded 13 vehicle registrations in August.
In the U.S., Lucid sold 587 vehicles in September, according to Motor Intelligence, while in the Netherlands, the company sold 7 vehicles, based on official data from the Dutch association BOVAG released earlier this week.
Battery electric vehicles (BEV) made up 16.5 percent of new registrations in Germany during September, with 34,479 units sold, an 8.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
On the expansion front, Lucid opened a new showroom in the German city of Frankfurt last week, its third in the country, following locations in Munich and Dusseldorf.
Later this month, the company is also preparing to open another showroom in Hamburg in October, bringing the total number of stores to eight across Switzerland, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Lucid recently reiterated its annual production target of 9,000 vehicles as it gears up to launch its second model, the Gravity SUV, later this year.
With 1,728 vehicles produced in the first quarter and 2,110 in the second, Lucid expects to produce 5,162 vehicles in the second half of 2024.
On Friday, Envoy, a subsidiary of EV charging company Blink Charging, announced it is adding Lucid Air vehicles to its car-sharing programs in California.
