Lucid Motors hired Nissan’s Head of Talent Acquisition James Tucker to lead its Executive Recruitment Function identifying, attracting, and selecting leadership talent across all functional areas. Tucker has over 20 years of recruitment experience in different industries such as automotive, healthcare, financial services, and Fast-moving consumer goods working with companies like IBM, Hudson, Britvic PLC, Care UK, and Nissan.
Prior to joining Lucid, James Tucker worked at the Japanese automaker for nearly four years as Head of Talent Acquisition for Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania regions. Tucker joined the Japan-headquartered automaker in Dubai in Sep
Between September 2018 and April 2021, Tucker was based in Dubai leading the talent acquisition strategy and team across Africa, the Middle East, and India regions. After 2 and a half years in Dubai, Tucker moved to the United Kingdom adding Europe and Oceania regions to its regions.

In a recent interview with Driving Electric, Lucid’s Senior VP Eric Bach revealed that the luxurious EV maker is developing entry-level new products. After the already known Gravity project — a seven-seater SUV that has been delayed until 2024 — the EV maker is working on a “mid-size” electric car to rival Tesla Model 3 in 2025-26.
In addition, Bach added that the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the Air model will arrive in the UK “soon” although he did not reveal the exact date.
In late June, Lucid Motors sent its 1050 hp Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance to the Goodwood Festival of Speed and, partnering with the driver Ben Collins, won the fastest production vehicle with a 50.6 seconds lap.
On April 12, Lucid Motors introduced the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance which delivers 1,050 horsepower and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The model has an MSRP of $179,000 and customer deliveries in the U.S. are slated to begin in June 2022. In Canada, the Air Grand Touring Performance will be priced at $242,000 CAD (before taxes), with deliveries beginning in August 2022, the EV maker stated.
