Starting in the first quarter of next year, Hyundai will offer a free NACS adapter, including shipping, to current and new EV owners who purchase or lease their vehicle until the end of January, the company announced on Monday.

The Hyundai-authorized adapter will allow EVs with CCS charging ports to access over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States.

For 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 vehicles equipped with native NACS ports, Supercharger access is available while vehicles with CCS ports will gain access via the adapter early next year.

Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis has also joined the program, with further details expected next year, the company said in a statement.

Separately, Hyundai Motor Europe announced Xavier Martinet as its next President and CEO. Martinet will replace Michael Cole, who departs after 15 years with Hyundai Motor Group. Martinet will assume the role on January 1, 2025, at the company’s headquarters in Offenbach, Germany.
