The latest new vehicle catalogue from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, published Monday, included the first images and specifications of XPeng‘s facelifted Mona M03 sedan.
The refreshed model of the company’s best-selling model is planned to be launched in the first few months of 2026, EV confirmed with a company spokesperson.
The new XPeng Mona M03 will feature three battery options, all using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells supplied by EVE Power.
The base 51.8 kWh battery offers a range of 485 to 540 km depending on the variant, while the 61.6 kWh battery delivers between 570 and 610 km.
The highest-capacity 62.2 kWh battery provides a range of 625 to 640 km.
The vehicle measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.
The exterior design of the model remains largely the same, but a few updates distinguish the two versions.
The front bumper has been redesigned so the grille lines now align with the hood creases, and the bumper itself has been enhanced with vent-like designs on both sides.
The catalogue also revealed that XPeng is updating the battery electric X9 multi-purpose van (MPV), with a new 110 kWh battery capable of delivering from 710 to 750 km of range.
The company recently launched the extended-range, hybrid version of the model, which was received with strong interest from customers.
Mona M03 Sales
XPeng delivered 391,937 vehicles between January 1 and November 30. Of those, 163,299 were Mona M03s — representing over 41.6% of the total.
Since its launch in August 2024, the model quickly became XPeng‘s best-seller, contributing to monthly delivery records set by the brand over the past twelve months.
The model launched with its Plus variant, amid the company’s 10th anniversary, and is priced from 119,800 yuan — equivalent to $17,010.
In May, the brand launched a Max trim for the Mona M03, featuring city-level advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) powered by the brand’s in-house developed AI Turing chip.
The new variant, starting at 129,800 yuan ($18,435), received more than 12,500 orders within the first hour of its launch.
In late October, XPeng announced that the model had reached the production milestone of 200,000 units manufactured in just 14 months.
Overseas Expansion
In September — during the IAA Auto Show in Germany — the brand’s founder and CEO He Xiaopeng revealed that the Mona series would be available overseas in 2026.
“In 2026 you can expect a variety of Mona products launched into the Chinese and European markets, as well as in rest of the world,” the chief executive said then.
The first market to feature the Mona M03 in its lineup is Cambodia — the brand’s 53th global market.
XPeng is nearing completion of its target of doubling overseas presence in 2025 to 60 markets.
Last week, the company exclusively told EV that it will hold a global launch event for the second generation of its P7+ sedan on January 8.
The new iteration will be available in both battery electric and extended-range electric configurations.
