XPeng said on Monday that it will launch its refreshed G6 and G9 models on Thursday, March 13. While preparing to unveil its first extended-range model later this year, the Guangzhou automaker is updating its SUV lineup to stay competitive in China’s highly competitive EV market.
Last Friday, the new XPeng G9 arrived in stores across 214 cities in China — a few days after the G6 SUV was officially unveiled. However, pricing details will be only announced later this week at the official launch event.
According to the carmaker, the latest iteration of both models includes over 60 upgrades and 5C ultra-fast charging.
Earlier on Monday, Citi analyst Jeff Chung upgraded the firm’s rating on the carmaker, raising the firm’s 2024 delivery estimate by 85% to nearly 500,000 vehicles.
In a new research note, Chung upgraded the stock from Hold to Buy and more than doubled the price target to $29.00 from $13.70, citing strong order intake in February and the launch of several new models.
XPeng delivered 30,453 vehicles in February, marking the fourth consecutive month of exceeding 30,000 units as it aims to double its sales figures in 2025. In the second quarter of the year, the company will continue to expand in Europe to several new markets.
