XPeng Launches Revamped P7, Prices Begin at $30,700

XPeng on Tuesday launched the all-new P7 sedan, a major update to one of its first models of the Chinese carmaker.

The refreshed version of the P7 — a sedan that was first launched in 2020, two years after the brand’s inception — was unveiled earlier this month.

Last week, founder and CEO He Xiaopeng announced that the refreshed P7 has achieved record pre-order numbers, the highest of any model since the company was founded 11 years ago.

With prices starting at 219,800 yuan ($30,700), the model features an 800-volt platform and features up to 820 kilometers of range on China’s CLTC cycle. It can add 525 km in just 10 minutes at a compatible fast charger, the company said.

The new version starts at 219,800 yuan ($30,700) for the P7 702 Ultra (Long Range) edition.

The 820 Ultra (Extra Long Range) is priced at 239,800 yuan ($33,500), while the 750 Ultra AWD Performance retails for 259,800 yuan ($36,300)

The top-end 750 Ultra AWD Wing Edition is listed at 301,800 yuan ($42,200).

Energy consumption is rated at 12 kWh per 100 km and charging from 10% to 80% on a 180 kW pile takes 22.5 minutes.

XPeng emphasized the sedan’s high-speed stability, saying the car maintains peak performance at sustained speeds above 220 km/h, a feature it hopes will appeal to premium buyers in China and overseas.

The launch comes with a suite of limited-time purchase incentives.

Customers who place an order before October 8 will receive up to 30,000 shopping points, complimentary options such as automatic electric rear wings, exclusive exterior colors, and zero-gravity co-pilot seats on certain trims.

Wheel packages, including 20- and 21-inch forged wheels, are offered at a 50% discount.

Trade-in and loyalty benefits were also announced.

Buyers trading in an older XPeng vehicle can receive up to 10,000 yuan ($1,380) in final payment reductions, while repurchasing customers get a free 1,500 kWh annual charging quota for six years.

P7 and P7i owners who upgrade to the new model qualify for lifetime battery warranty and 500,000 shopping points, valued at 5,000 yuan.

The P7 competes with premium sedans such as Tesla’s Model 3, BYD’s Seal and Nio’s ET5. The company is counting on its next-generation charging technology and long driving range to help differentiate it in China’s increasingly competitive EV market.

The revamped sedan introduces smart driving capabilities and features the largest (87-inch) augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD) in the company’s lineup.

It delivers 0–100 km/h acceleration in about 3 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h.

All variants are equipped with the brand’s Turing AI driving system — introduced in the G7 SUV for the first time — and triple AI chips with a combined 2,250 TOPS of processing power — the highest publicly claimed among mass-market EVs globally.
