The electric vehicle maker XPeng is reportedly preparing to release a new version of its sedan P7 by mid-2023 and the first pictures were exposed on the internet suggesting some interior and exterior changes.

According to local media, the upgraded version of the P7 model will bring LiDar technology, a multifunction steering wheel similar to the one used on the recently released G9 SUV, the 3D user interface of the new Xmart 4.0 dashboard and also the XPILOT 3.5 intelligent system.
In late March, XPeng’s CEO He Xiaopeng showed its confidence on XPILOT 4.0 Version saying it “will boast a clear next-generation leap against other mass-produced advanced driver assistance systems. Simply put, under the premise of offering superior safety, the XPILOT 4.0 will feature a more comprehensive set of use scenarios, even wider geographical coverage and a better Q1 vehicle interface and in-vehicle experience for both drivers and passengers.”

The new XPeng P7 will feature a multi-function steering wheel similar to the G9 which adopts the design of metal buttons and rollers reducing the probability of accidental touch. The model is expected to be built on the 800V high-voltage SiC platform and will be able to add over 200kms in only 5 minutes.
Earlier this month, the EV maker announced that delivered 15,295 vehicles in June 2022, representing a 133% increase year-over-year. The EV maker delivered a total of 34,422 units delivered in Q2 2022, a 98% from Q2 2021.
As of June 30, 2022, year-to-date total deliveries reached 68,983 units, representing a 124% increase year-over-year, the highest among emerging automakers in China, XPeng noted. June deliveries consisted of 8,045 P7s, the Company’s smart sports sedan, 5,598 P5 smart family sedans and 1,652 G3i and G3 smart compact SUVs.
Earlier this week, XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng wrote that he is “very confident in this flagship product” and that the G9 model will be the best SUV under RMB 500,000.
