Onvo announced on Monday that it started rolling out a new software version of its operating system ‘Coconut’, adding features focused on improving the family experience.
According to a post on the app of Nio‘s sub-brand, the 2.0.0 version introduces a new user interface and several driving experience and smart capabilities updates.
The new update is available starting from this Monday to customers across China for vehicles that have the 1.2.0 or later version installed.
The brand’s AI in-car voice assistant, named ‘XiaoLe’, has been upgraded for enhanced user habits learning and to suggest useful features for each context.
“XiaoLe can proactively think and invoke tools, sensing the current situation to recommend suitable functions to the user,” the brand said in the release notes.
The AI voice assistant will now also support interaction between the front and rear seats, with rear passengers being able to summon the companion to their screens using proximity detection. Front passengers can control the rear screens through its ‘XiaoLe’.
Additionally, Onvo‘s upgraded ‘Child Protection’ system now automatically activates child-protection features whenever children enter the car.
The ‘City Oasis AI Smart Cabin’ features intelligent guarding that detects eight scenarios, provides summary reports with clips, and allows remote control of the car freezer’s 12V power via the Onvo app with 24-hour alerts.
When it comes to smart driving, the new operating system version allows drivers to customize the steering feel (from light to steady) and have “quick-access driving panels” within the three driving modes Comfort, Eco, Sport.
Navigation and Parking Assistant now suggest parking lots “en route or near the destination, displaying type, rates, and walking distance.”
When it comes to daily experience optimizations, Onvo‘s audio tuning interface was changed to include more modes and a higher EQ range.
As Nio launched the L90 in late July, it said that the vehicle featured the NT.Coconut 2.0 version. However, the second model of the Onvo brand is also expected to adopt the latest 2.0.0 version.
Deliveries for the L90 started on the first day of August across 44 cities and the current delivery waiting time for the vehicle is — as of Monday — at “8 to 10 weeks.”
Earlier on Monday, the brand introduced a 60 kWh battery pack option for the model, as planned to provide a smaller and more affordable battery option for its customers.
Nio Group, which comprises the premium Nio marque and its Onvo and Firefly sub-brands, reportedly had more than 10,000 new orders last week, according to industry tracker ‘CarFans China’.
