Nio Sells ES8 Wheel Kit for 25,800 Yuan, Offsets It With 10,000 Credit

Nio has introduced a new ‘Lanyue’ wheel-and-brake package for the ES8 SUV, expanding options for the large battery-electric SUV one day after the model reached 150,000 cumulative deliveries on its first anniversary.

The package costs 25,800 yuan ($3,800) for the entry-level Executive Luxury variant and 10,800 yuan ($1,600) for the Executive Signature variant, Nio announced on Monday.

Included are 22-inch forged wheels valued at 25,800 yuan ($3,800) and gold brake calipers valued at 3,500 yuan ($500).

Executive Signature buyers pay less because that trim already carries 22-inch forged wheels and four-piston calipers as standard, so the package replaces rather than adds them.

What the Package Includes

The wheels are made from aerospace-grade 6000-series aluminium alloy, forged under 10,000 tonnes of pressure and finished with T6 heat treatment, Nio said.

Each weighs 18.5 kilograms.

A variable wall thickness design reduces unsprung mass while maintaining strength.

Floating centre caps keep the Nio logo upright as the wheels rotate, a feature shared with the flagship ET9 sedan.

Nio described the gold caliper finish as “Dawn Gold,” a colour inspired by morning light in Iceland.

The package is positioned as a visual upgrade — Nio did not claim any change in braking or handling characteristics.

Nio did not say whether similar packages would be offered for other models.

It is the second appearance kit sold on the third-generation ES8, after a black-and-gold kit earlier in the year, and the launch seven-seat car had offered a 36,000-yuan Signature package with projection headlamps, dimming glass, the four-piston calipers and 22-inch wheels.

ES8 Pricing

With the ‘Lanyue’ package fitted, the ES8 Executive Luxury starts at 408,600 yuan ($61,000) with the battery included, according to the Nio App.

The Executive Signature starts at 433,600 yuan ($64,700).

Under Nio’s BaaS (battery as a service) battery-rental scheme, starting prices for the two variants drop to 300,600 yuan ($44,800) and 325,600 yuan ($48,600), respectively.

Without the package, the third-generation ES8 starts at 406,800 yuan ($60,700) for the three-row Executive Luxury or 382,800 yuan ($57,100) for the five-seat version that arrived in July.

Nio’s post names the two trims but not the seat configurations. The Weibo pricing implies the package is available on the five-seat cars, which went on sale in July, and nothing in the announcement excludes the three-row cars.

September Incentives

Nio paired the package launch with a limited-time promotion running through September 30.

Customers who lock in ES8 orders by then receive a 10,000-yuan ($1,500) allowance toward optional equipment and access to preferential financing.

The financing plan spans 60 monthly instalments, with no interest for the first 24 months.

The remaining 36 months carry an annualised fee rate of 3%, equivalent to an annualised interest rate of 5.64%, Nio said.

The promotion applies to all ES8 variants, not only those equipped with the Lanyue package.

One year, 150,000 Units

The package launch came one day after co-founder and President Qin Lihong handed over the 150,000th third-generation ES8 in Beijing on September 20, exactly one year after the model went on sale.

The latest 10,000 deliveries took 30 days, matching the previous batch.

Every batch of 10,000 since May has arrived in almost exactly 30 days — the 110,000th on May 23, the 120,000th on June 22, the 130,000th on July 22, the 140,000th on August 21 at the Chengdu show and the 150,000th on September 20.

The regularity, rather than the speed, is what the sequence now shows.

Monthly deliveries ran at about 11,000 in August, exceeding 10,000 for a second consecutive month after a dip to 8,969 in June, when buyers held off for the five-seat version.

The ES8 remains Nio’s highest-volume model.

Nio said the ES8 ranks first in cumulative sales since launch in China’s large SUV market regardless of powertrain, price range or seat count, and first in the segment above 400,000 yuan regardless of body style.

A Wider Lineup

The Shanghai-headquartered brand has steadily widened the ES8 range over its first year.

The SUV launched on September 20, 2025, in six- and seven-seat configurations only.

A five-seat version went on sale on July 9, with deliveries starting the following day at 382,800 yuan ($57,200) with the battery or 274,800 yuan ($41,000) under BaaS, expanding the lineup into the premium large five-seat SUV segment.

The addition helped the ES8 recover its 10,000-a-month pace after June’s dip.

The 30-day cadence between 10,000-unit milestones held for the two batches before the five-seat went on sale and for the two after.

Above the ES8 sits the ES9, which launched in May at 498,000 yuan ($74,200) and has led battery-electric SUV sales in the 500,000-yuan class for three consecutive months.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer William Li said on the second-quarter call it also led all passenger vehicles above 500,000 yuan in June and July regardless of powertrain. Nio said on Monday it will deliver the 30,000th ES9 this week.

The ES8 accounted for about six in ten Nio-brand deliveries in the first half of 2026.

Nio posted its first quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2025, driven in large part by ES8 margins, and the model has carried the brand’s revenue since.
