Electric vehicle maker Nio has reportedly delivered “nearly 15,000” units across its three brands last week in China.
The information was published on Monday by the automotive blogger ‘猪倌玩电车不养猪’ on Weibo, who has 125,000 followers.
“Nio’s delivery volume last week also broke a record — nearly 15,000 units, the user wrote.
Weekly sales figures are expected to be shared on Chinese social media on early Tuesday.
“Among the new-energy vehicle startups, it seems only Leapmotor has ever achieved such a result,” he added referring to the Stellantis-backed carmaker.
The post, which has been deleted since then, was shared by Marcel Munch on X.
From September 29 to October 5, the company sold 6,400 units, with numbers from the first days of October l due to the Chinese Golden Week holiday.
The last figures published across Chinese social media covered the week of October 6 to 12, during which the Nio Group sold 7,050 vehicles.
Since then, reports from the two weeks before the end of the month indicated that Nio sold more than 10,000 vehicles per week.
Over the weekend, the company reported a 40,397-unit record in October, a year over year soar of 92.6%.
Figures have mostly been driven by deliveries of the third-generation Nio ES8 and the Onvo L90.
The company did not disclose specific delivery figures for each model, however China’s Passenger Car Association (CPCA) is expected to release them later this month.
L90 and ES8 Lead Sales
Based on available data — including a record cumulative total of 30,000 L90s and 10,000 ES8 units reached last month — it can be estimated that more than 7,000 ES8s and 10,000 L90s were delivered in October alone.
Together, these two models likely accounted for over 40% of the company’s total vehicle deliveries last month.
Last Friday, Nio’s Assistant VP of Brand and Communications Ma Lin shared on Weibo that “in November, deliveries of the all-new ES8 will accelerate further, with production capacity expected to increase by 70% compared with October.”
The executive added that Nio “will strive to further boost production” in December, reiterating the company’s target of producing 15,000 ES8s in the final month of 2025.
Nio’s Production Ramp-up
CEO William Li confirmed the expansion plans last week as Nio targets 150,000 total deliveries across its three brands — Nio, Onvo, and Firefly — in the fourth quarter.
The target suggests the company expects to reach an average of 50,000 deliveries per month in October, November, and December combined across all brands.
To meet demand, Nio has reportedly begun production at its third factory in Hefei and requested provincial government support to hire approximately 1,000 additional workers by the end of October.
The company is prioritizing production of both its three-row SUVs — the ES8 and the L90 — through year-end.
Strong Demand
The third-generation ES8 debuted at Nio‘s annual event in China on September 20, with deliveries beginning the following day. Demand quickly outpaced supply.
By September 22, the company announced a six-month waiting period for new orders.
While that timeline has since narrowed to 22-23 weeks as production ramps up, customers ordering today would still face delivery in April 2026.
