NIO announced today a new Battery Swap Station in China, the 850th nationwide. The station is located in Foshan Sinopec Luocun Avenue, 6Km away from the high-speed exit of Foqing being surrounded by a large number of residences, schools and industrial parks. The location provides fast replenishment services for users living and working here to ensure worry-free travel, NIO added.

The station is equipped with four 120Kw overcharge piles and is the first 2nd generation station that NIO and Sinopec build in Foshan, bringing convenient power exchange services to car owners, but also replenish guarantees for users of tourism and routes, which will effectively alleviate the urban addition electrical pressure. NIO and Sinopec will continue to cooperate to create more replenishment scenes in Foshan.

The partnership between NIO and Sinopec was announced in April 2021, with the opening of the Chaoying Station in Beijing being the first second-generation battery swap station. At the time, NIO said that the partnership between Sinopec and NIO was an important milestone for further developing China’s smart EV industry, a concrete measure to help achieve peak carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, a key step in developing global, green, and innovative transportation initiatives and innovations.

“As a smart battery swap system enabled by software-defined cloud computing, NIO Power Swap Station 2.0 is the world’s first mass-produced battery swap station that allows the vehicle to maneuver into the station automatically. Each NIO Power Swap Station 2.0 has 239 sensors and four collaborating cloud computing systems that maximize the application of visual recognition technologies. Enabled by the technology, users can complete a self-service battery swap with only one click while staying in the car. The system is capable of completing up to 312 battery swaps per day, significantly improving swapping efficiency.” — NIO stated.
As of March 9th, NIO has 850 Battery Swap Stations, 684 Supercharging Stations, 3,838 Supercharging piles and access to more than 470,000 third-party charging piles nationwide. NIO ended 2021 with 777 Stations built, being 11% above the updated goal established last July of 700. The annual objective was reached three weeks before the year-end.

On January 19th, Nio officially opened its first European Battery Swap Station, located in Norway – the first European Country for the Chinese EV maker. By the end of 2022, Nio will have Stations in five different Norwegian cities, with a total of 20 for the Norwegian customers.
The ET7 Model test drives started on March 5th with hundreds of customers having the opportunity to test the sedan unveiled in December 2020 that is finally start its deliveries later this month, on March 28th. The ES8 owner @SYSMAX was among the early testers and shared some Pros and Cons after nearly one hour testing the model: “I am lucky to be the first scheduled owner to test drive ET7. After nearly an hour of test drive and ride, let’s also talk about some of my real feelings.”
Last week, the company announced that delivered 6,131 vehicles during February 2022, representing an increase of 9.9% year-over-year. . February deliveries are often affected by the Chinese Spring Festival Hollidays where the factories usually close from January 31st to February 6th.
