NIO opens 3 new Battery Swap Stations reaching a total of 860 and 3,910 supercharging piles

NIO announced on Friday the opening of three new Battery Swap Stations (BSS) in Guangzhou (China) reaching a total of 860. The facilities are located in Panyu Xiongfeng City, Guangzhou Conghua Hot Spring West Road, and at Zhaoqing Sinopec Lantang Station — all of them on Guangzhou’s Greater Bay Area.

As of March 18th, NIO has 860 Battery Swap Stations, 704 Supercharging Stations, 3,910 Supercharging piles and access to more than 480,000 third-party charging piles nationwide. NIO ended 2021 with 777 Stations built, being 11% above the updated goal established last July of 700. The annual objective was reached three weeks before the year-end.

NIO also opened a Supercharging Station located in Wenquan Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou. The new station has six 120kw overcharge piles, which forms an integrated charging and replacement service system with NIO’s BSS located in Conghua Hot Spring Passenger Station.

The company reached on March 9th the 850th Battery Swap Station which is located in Foshan Sinopec Luocun Avenue, 6Km away from the high-speed exit of Foqing being surrounded by a large number of residences, schools and industrial parks.

On January 19th, Nio officially opened its first European Battery Swap Station, located in Norway – the first European Country for the Chinese EV maker. By the end of 2022, Nio will have Stations in five different Norwegian cities, with a total of 20 for the Norwegian customers.

The ET7 Model test drives started on March 5th with hundreds of customers having the opportunity to test the sedan unveiled in December 2020 that is finally start its deliveries later this month, on March 28th. The ES8 owner @SYSMAX was among the early testers and shared some Pros and Cons after nearly one hour testing the model: “I am lucky to be the first scheduled owner to test drive ET7. After nearly an hour of test drive and ride, let’s also talk about some of my real feelings.”
